His counter punching is second to none. Hope he gets a chance to fight more of the big names and let the world see how good he really is. DINAMITA!
i was a little disappointed with his behavior after the fight he had with Manny but other than that, i'd say he is one of the most underrated boxer in this era.

what JMM doesnt realize is he lost more respect of the people
by crying and whining all the time..

How many fighters can say that they withstood Mannys shots?

He is a great fighter and peaked later than other Mexican fighters before him. He was ducked for years( Hammed), Nacho pointed him in the wrong direction at times( Fight with John for 25/30K) mangement wise, but in the end he is still became a 3 weight class champ and that is a remarkable feat.

He has a great chin. Not too many fighters get up from 3 hard kd's to dominate the remaining rounds. Manny was just able to sneak in those punches at the right time.

Manny and JMM both benefited from both fights.

I used to dislike JMM before the 1st Manny fight because he was slow and contented with pecking even when he had his man. But Manny's challenge brought out the best in him. I think he's the most technically proficient boxer right now, and I look forward to his fights.

I bet on him everytime except when he fights Manny.

Marquez is a great counterpuncher. His timing is almost impeccable. However his defense is overrated. He gets hit way too much even with his fights against bums.

Still, he is a great boxer who would've probably done better in his career because of his abilites had he chosen the right path.

He adjusted his game, from being purely a counterpuncher, he became more offense-minded after the first fight with Pacman and actually got more fans because of that adjustment. He needs to make his own name though. He has escaped the shadows of Barrera and Morales, but his legacy is still attached to Pacquiao. I feel he needs at least two more career defining fights with good names (aside from Pacman) before he retires and win them convincingly - a convincing win over Juan Diaz would definitely be one of them.
