Now I suppose you'll have a link to where Calzaghe "never mentioned his name again, true to form".

    Or not.

''Johnson should be puckering up and kissing my hand and thanking me at every opportunity''

If anyone else would have backed out of a fight twice and had thier promoter pay that fighter I would say he ducked him. It doesnt mean Joe would lose the fight, it means he most likely did not want to take the chance.

johnson didn't meet the age limit of 40 years old at the time so calzaghe wouldn't fight him.

Calzaghe has been injury prone throughout his career. He'd also been arrested the week before the fight and was going through a bitter divorce at the time. Not exactly ideal preparation.

You didn't really get a response to providing this link as requested then, after the cynicism of not being able to?

              Shame.

Was to be expected considering who was involved

That's the thing. He always claims he is injured at questionable times. He claimed he was injured right before the Lacy fight and that fight almost didn't happen. Some of the claims may have merit but it would cause even a skeptic to raise an eyebrow about the timing.

Surely you're most likely to get injured whilst your training for a fight, no?

Sure. But to claim injury before risky fights quite a bit causes one to think. Not that I am into anything Frank Warren says but he also implies Joe used injury as an excuse not to fight when he clearly was fine.
