What would you consider solid proof, a sworn statement from the man himself? The proof is in the pudding, no trainer says "you have to knock him out to win" in the 12th round, unless he believes it.

Yes, go get some proof from AFTER THE FIGHT that Enzo Calzaghe thinks Joe lost. You can't. That's why you're clutching at straws right now. If Enzo thought Joe lost the fight, we would know.

You must be new to boxing if you never heard a trainer tell a fighter to go for KO in the last round. What should he say during a close fight, "you're doing great, just coast along to the finish"? The rounds were close, no doubt he was urging Joe on, that's all it is. Simple fact is you're reading way too much into it.

A trainer who thinks it's close but that his fighter is winning: "out box him, stay away from danger, win the round".

A trainer who thinks his fighter will lose and can't win on points: "you've got to stop him, you have to knock him out".

Enzo was the latter in Hopkins fight.

Calzaghe is pretty much right...

The only person who really would be left after Jones (who isn't really in the spotlight anyway at this point) would be Chad Dawson. Everyone else is coming off a loss recently who would have been worth fighting.

I think he can retire without worrying about Dawson though...

u just said, dawson's fight w/ johnson was much closer than the calzaghe fight w/ hopkins........................

BUT you went on to post that the hopkins fight was very tight, could've gone eithewr way, and you scored it a draw.....plus the fact it actually ended in a SD........i dont know what world you live in, but a fight can't get any closer than that..............

calzaghe says he's retiring, but like i said, money talks........this just gives me more motivaiton to root for roy jones on the 8th, so calzaghe can retire w/ a beating....

but who kno's roy might give calzaghe a rematch just to spite hopkins. could happen. roy and calzaghe are both ******* in my book.......

I had Johnson over Dawson by a few rounds, IMO that decision was a joke, hence why i said the fight was closer. Granted that was a bad choice of words, but what i was trying to put accross was that Calzaghe performed better against Hopkins the Dawson did against Johnson, take into account that Hopkins is a better fighter then Glen Johnson I dont think Calzaghe needs to fight Dawson to cement his legacy. Considering the vast majority on here are backing RJJ to beat him, I think a win in that fight will cement his legacy enough.

But then again, i think we all know that most on here will be saying Roy is a shot fighter if Calzaghe wins.
