I always saw Roy as such a talented, skilled, dynamic boxer... but to feel sadness when I know it is a sure thing that he will not be able to persevere forever would (for me), in a way, be as though I didn't expect it... its part of the game, you have to take the good with the bad and the great with the terrible...everyody has their day and their time...what's that old saying?...

    Thanks ICEMAN your a legend

To tell u the truth i very rarely watch MMA, etc...boxing is the only fighting sport I really have interest in....I actually know quite a few MMA guys, we spar a lot, they are in my gym (we have a huge octagon right in the middle of our gym)... but I have never been to a live show...I think my first ne actually will be right here in Connecticut, they have one planned for later this month, the 28th I think...

            Hey Ice.

Did you ever have trouble making weights for your fights? If so, how troublesome was it?

Have you got any horror stories about weight-making, or have you ever heard any?

LOL, that's my entire career!!!! In my book I chronicle some crazy stuff I have done....let me put it this way: Part of the reason I would never ever come back to boxing is because there is no way in the world I want to ever again go through the last minute attempts at losing the final three or four (or muchmore sometimes) pounds needed to make the contracted weight....some of the worst times of my ENTIRE life!!!

EXAMPLE...I once lost 9.5 pounds over night -after having lost already about seventeen already- to make weight for a fight...

                  Jesus.

Did losing all that weight affect you hugely during the fight?

Mentally even more than physically it destroyed me...not just because of doing that but because I had done it so many times over the course of so many years I was just burnt out and sick of it and I fought (or didn't fight) like it, too...
