    wow, Hatton really did hit his head hard that night. What a dumb ass. He doesn't know an ass whopping when it hit him in the face to have him hit the post. He needs to see a doctor ASAP. I'm still curious to see how he will handle Pauli..... Mayweather proved to be on another level and EMBARRASSED HIM and his fans, WHY would he want another ass whopping like that. I won A LOT of money that night and I myself even felt bad for his fans as he laid there. Reminded me of how I felt when ol' Roy was laid out (twice)... So I really felt for them. Maybe HE is the one trying to get the PAY DAY????

      cortez interfered too much, but it was in his right too its boxing not wrestling . . . mayweather did most of the holding and tying up, hes a genius boxer and was doing everything possible to diminish hattons stubby armed inside fighting.

      cortez should retire but IMO 90% of his calls that night were justified.
      People always mention Cortez because in the Hatton v Castillo fight he let them fight on the inside, but in Hatton v Mayweather he constantly broke them up.

        Floyd Sr isnt going to improve ricky that much.. even if he did, ricky would still lose badly.. as far as biased ref's go, any decent ref would not allow that wwf wrestling crap hatton does.. he was able to do that in the uk, but most of the refs dont really allow that out here in the u.s.. castillo put up a good fight against an injured floyd and still lost.. margarito has nice size and a good style but he is waaay too slow to put a dent in floyd.. it would be like the early stages of the cotto fight except for marg wouldnt be able to punish floyd like he did cotto

          The truth is, in almost any Hatton fight that I've seen, he easily could have been disqualified. In fact, if a mid level fighter on an ESPN2 card used the exact same tactics, as often as Hatton, they might be disqualified. Nobody wants a big PPV fight to end with a DQ and the referee won't want to be involved with that type of controversy, so it isn't going to happen, but the guy does not fight clean.

          Hitting and holding is illegal in boxing, and it makes for boring fights. Cortez easily could have started with the point deductions way way earlier.

          Hatton does have some nice skills, particularly with his lead left hand, when he rips the hooks to the body and mixes in left hooks and uppercuts with his jab, but he just holds most of the time instead.

          Do you guys remember his first US fight against Juan Urango when he shut the guy out for the first seven rounds so he just decided to hug him to death for the last 5? What the hell was that?!! Is that supposed to impress American audiences? Is this guy supposed to be exciting?

            If Mayweather actually came out of retirement for this, lol I'd be pissed if I was still a Cotto fan.

              hatton's dream of a rematch with ugly boy floyd will never happen for the following reasons:
              1) granting he will return, mayweather will fight a competitive fighter. certainly hatton lost his competitiveness as shown in his last fight;
              2) there is an existing bad blood between the ugly father and son. ugly boy floyd will not fight any boxer trained by his ugly father probably because ugly boy floyd knew his ugly father will "decode" his shoulder roll defense;
              3) ugly boy floyd want his ugly father penniless. certainly, if he will fight hatton, his ugly father will get his trainer's fee.

                if floyd sr is really looking to beat his son with a fighter it shouldnt be ricky hatton.

                No offense but floyd sr would be MUCH MUCH MUCH better served training an oscar de la hoya or manny pacquiao.

                Even with the loss to margarito i still think the top 3 fighters who have the BEST chance currently of beating mayweather are (in no specific order):

                Oscar De La Hoya
                Manny Pacquiao
                Miguel Cotto

                End of story...

                ricky hatton cannot and will not beat floyd jr...the ONLY way and i mean the ONLY way hatton beats him is if he lands a lucky punch to stop mayweather...with is HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY unlikely.

                Oscar, pacman, cotto...those are the guys i believe could give floyd the biggest challenge right now.

                  I don't think you guys see the difference.

                  Castillo slid his way in and went to the body but he did all this WITHOUT HOLDING. Castillo's in-fighting doesn't include arm-grabbing and wrestling the way Ricky's does. That's way they got broken up!

                  It's a boxing match. Cortez was fine. If you want to work inside then cool. But Hatton does hug alot. He didn't get in and do work on the inside. He was just trying to wrestle with Floyd.

                    Hatton KO's Floyd at 140 with a competent, unbiased referee.
