As far as the manager goes, of course he is going to make statements that portray his fighter as a sympathetic figure in this ordeal. You'd be foolish to not expect as much.

I'm also sure that his manager understood the ramifications of pulling a no-show less than three hours before they are to take the stage. If you do that, your career and future is far from "brilliant".

From losing too much weight too fast by using unsafe methods of dehydrating. Guzman going into the ring as a mere shell of himself and risking serious injury wouldn't have been good for boxing.

Yeah, that's on the Vegas betting line. A lot of people were going to bet on Nate, which would have evened or even turned the odds in the other direction, but Nate told his supporters not to so he could run the odds up and make a lot of money on himself. He did the same thing in the Diaz fight, which explained the lopsided odds. He explained it would be different this time because Dominicans are more likely to place gaudy bets.
