Whilst i think what you said is a bit over the top, IMO Joe is probably underrated if you average out fan opinions. There are definitely very valid concerns about Bhop's record and legacy.

I just don't get, really don't, how anyone can factor Roy as a serious ATG (I'm talking like top 50, maybe even top 100 here).

The guy simply does not have the competition to justify it.

If you were going to have Roy as an ATG, then you'd have to look at stuff like Tarver beating him still within his arguable prime and Tarver dominating (though not stopping) Woods more than Roy did. (Woods was vaguely competitive with Roy for a couple of rounds).

I mean, yeah, that's BULL****, but then so is Roy being an ATG on the back of his comp.

All 3 of them won 3/4 belts in their division, which is something that can't be said about many fighters nowadays.

Then again, Juan Diaz isn't an ATG, is he?

first off woods was in more of his prime when he fought jones than when he fought tarver. roy was no where near his prime when he fought tarver. he was weight drained and was sluggish in that first fight. if you look at every fighter you will see alot of fights where they dominated a lower tear fighter. everyone was saying tito was going to KO hopkins when they fought and look what happend. now everyone says he took on a blown up fighter. he did yes but dont say he is going to KO him than turn around and say he fought a out of shape fighter.

they all fought and all won titles. cant take much more. your compairing ali?? he was in a WAY better time in boxing. there was nothing but hall of fame fighters in his div. this day in age the comp is nowhere near as tough as it was back than. so to compair the fighters of yesterday and today is just out of the question.

like i said all 3 of these fighters won titles in 2 or 3 or 4 weight divisions. joe has beaten champs hops has beaten champs and jones has beaten champs. in a depleated time in boxing you still have to give these guys their props. not every fighter today or even yesterday could do what these guys have done. hence over 100 years no one has ever done what roy did. so to say all these guys are overrated is out of the questions. they havnt fought the best of today but the weight classes they are in dont have the prime DLH, prime tito, manny pac, PBF and the best fighters of yesterday. they beat who they had to beat to get where they are today. they couldnt get ali, forman, frazier, norton, liston, sugar ray, hagler, hearns and all the greats of that time.
P.S sorry this was so long lol.

So Tarver beat Woods by UD and Roy stopped him in 6 rounds and that is a detriment to his ability and resume????

i agree with that. how can you sit here and say that woods gave roy a better fight when roy owned him. the ref had to save him before roy demolished him
