Every ****ing fighter is seen as overated on this forum... Toney, Roy, Tyson, Lewis, Mosley, PBF, Hopkins, I have all heard ppl break down their resumes and say they are overated. Its good that at least you admit Calzaghe is overated...

People can try and say certain guys are overrated. I don't think there's any doubt Roy and B-Hop will be hall of famers when they hang them up.

            Hopkins
            PBF
            Oscar De La Hoya
            Mike Tyson
            Calzaghe
            Roy Jones
            Marciano
Even someone called Ali a bum.

This forum has a lot of haters, hence why so many poster call fighters overrated.

exacly... nobody ever gives credit to anyone. PBF is a hall of famer... yet every1 says he fought nobody. Correction: He fought nobody at WELTERWEIGHT only. Had PBF not foughten Corrales at lightweight people now would be saying Corrales would of KO'd PBF at lightweight, thats just one example. I've heard almost EVERY good fighter be considered overated.

I agree, you can take any fighter put him in the ring with any champion and depending on who is analyzing the fight there will always be excuses, disputes and so forth. Its human nature to hate, bash and judge. No matter what a fighter does there will always be someone that will say otherwise. More so a guy that has never lost, someone will say its because he never fought anyone but others will say its because he's good or even great. It just all depends on who is analyzing.

The way I personally see it (if it even matters) is that Roy Jones Jr. Like you stated has the better talent out of the three. I enjoy watching his fights, I enjoy the hype of the pre-fights and I've known the guy for a long time. He got me into boxing. I see him as a highly skilled fighter that entertains the crowd and always brings a good show. I see Bernard Hopkins as a boring fighter, I do not enjoy watching his fights. BUT if I want to learn any kind of defense I know to watch him. He is a master at it. He also brings ring smartness. Both so far to me are and will always be legends.

Joe Calzaghe on the other hand has amazing talent when it comes to endurance. That is all I can pull from his fights that I do not get from any other fighter. I do not give him any credit for anything he has done prior to the Lacy. When he fought and beat Lacy I gave props. I just didn't like the fact he was considering himself a great when he had done nothing (in my eyes as the ANALYZER so to speak). You on the other hand might look at him fighting TOP NOTCH P4P fighters his entire career. I would hope not but that's you analyzing his opponents.

But over all If Calzaghe stays in the game a few more years and beats Jones, Pav and Tarver and maybe even 2 or 3 more fighters and was undefeated or even just lost once (Jones, you know I had to do it) THEN I would consider him a great. Until then he has a lot to prove (to me, the analyzer and a fan of boxing). But I'm not bashing Calzaghe, I just hope he stays in the game so I will "LEARN" to give him credit, because as of now I do not give him anything other than a GREAT 12 round UD win over Lacy. Like all his other fights, long 12 round wins by out pointing his apponant. You may ask what about Kessler, that was a so-so performance. I did not think he did anything great. I mean its by far better than anything Jones has done recently but I personally wasn't impressed. I would have been, if he KO'ed Kessler or just made him simply quit. Then I would have fear for ol' Jones this coming September....
Anyway just my thoughts on the 3 guys.
