Wow...it's funny how a lot of fans on here are not even giving Roy Jones a chance. RJJ has nothing left to prove. But I do believe he will win the fight by Dec. You guys talk a lot about how Joe will give Roy problems with his "swarming" style. Believe me, I have nothing but respect for Joe, but the guy doesn't have enough power to hurt Roy, so I believe RJJ won't be afraid to engage him.

I guess I'll put it this way...back when Roy was in his prime, I'm sure that we can all say that Roy would've been one of the top p4p even if he had half the skill he possessed at the time. This is our chance to see it. His hand speed is still miles ahead of most of the fighters at LHW...and his power?? If B-Hop put Joe on his ass, I think Roy will do it for sure.

Stop the hating...either way, we're in for a great scrap. Enjoy REAL boxing fans

As far as his legacy is concerned, no he doesn't have anything to prove but he has something to prove to himself and to the haters. If he's able to win this fight, he will go from top of the hill to being brutally knocked off, to climbing his way back to get this chance and getting back close to the top. Being a huge RJJr fan, I will be just fine if after this fight (win, lose or draw) and call it a career. The only fight that would satisfy me after this one is one with Johnson but I don't see that happening. Roy, you have been magnificent to watch so after Sept. 20th, you can ride off into the sunset with no argument from me.

I love this kind of post. It just displays such immense ignorance.

I'm a big Roy fan, and I don't think he's given enough credit for his intelligence in and out of the ring...but he sounds somewhat delusional to me lately. I think he wins this fight purely because styles make fights and Roy has almost every advantage you can name from power to speed...but he is sounding more and more delusional to me. It started with the third Tarver fight when he said he didn't try because the glory would have gone to his father and it continues today when he says after he beats JC, he's taking on the best American Heavyweight in Sam Peter.

I learned couple of things from Roy from his boxing commetating and reviews. he is pretty good with his stuff.

But the problem they guy is too ****y with his speed and power that he doesn't have another things to hold back later and now it haunts him abit through his career.

FIRST OF ALL WESS- Hopkins wasn't the CHAMP, (unless you count the NABO and the ever compliant IBO, with his win over the completely debilitated coma-stricken Antonio "Loudmouth" Tarver) he was the "misty" RING Champ, which isn't the same thing AT ALL as being "THE CHAMP". And I "ignore" that the RING is owned, lock, stock, and barrel, by a certain Oscar DeLaHoya, with whom The Great Bernardo Hopkinso "just happens to have" some slight business connection with.

SECOND OF ALL WESS_ You're agreeing with my comment EXACTLY, by supporting my remark about Hopkins and his "disbelieving laugh".....although you THINK you're dis*****g me. You are just projecting YOUR beliefs onto and smothering the actual fact that Old Hopkins has NEVER EVER admitted that he's lost to ANYONE. I'm told that he recently admitted that he actually lost to Roy Jones.....BUT.....for 15 years or more, he's been denying it, and he probably raised his hands and laughed disbelievingly after THAT fight too. FACE IT..WESS old boy...your hero Hopkinso is an actor and begrudging sportsman.

Yes, you're right, if old B ever bacame an actor the movie would bomb, because he's a "bad actor" in both senses of the words. And, for me anyway, who doesn't look at him with "stars" in my eyes, VERY easy to read. He was alsmost completely unknown until he beat Trinidad. And who has he beaten since......Morrade Hakar....Carl Daniels...... Robert Allen....... the Triinidad destroyed William Joppy.....OUR little Oscar...and the great Howard Eastman.

I can see lighning bolts flashing whilst I'm writing these august names, and the thunder of the Gods is deafening..................

Yet, hecouldn't beat a basic beginner Jermain Taylor...TWICE....
