Floyd infantile demeanor during his interview just shows his lack of class and panache.

Remind me again how "the sport" has "moved on". In the MONTH since his retirement.

Floyd isn't the brightest guy in the world. At times, he can be downright silly. But i'm GUESSING that he knew that either cal or Pac would get the #1 spot that he WILLINGLY VACATED, and that someone would fight for the WBC belt that he WILLINGLY VACATED.

I'm also guessing that he knew there would be future fights. Especially since he started a boxing promotions company. Call me crazy.

So, I need an education here: what has happened that has not been 100% predictable?

When Roy fell off as p4p #1. There wasn't a quick replacement as to who is the new p4p #1.
There were some people saying Hopkins, some people saying Floyd.
Floyd just retired and they already crowned a new p4p king.

Every Filipino knows and loves Manny, but does Floyd have so many fans? I don't think so. When Manny fights, there is no crime in the Phillipines for a couple of hours, because EVERYBODY is watching or listening to the fight. Is Floyd loved by an entire nation? I don't think so.

Check the thread "who will be remembered as the greater fighter, Floyd or Manny"

        Most people said Pacquiao.

Most importantly, Pacquiao is a real warrior, Floyd is a coward.

Soooo, a month ago, when BOTH were active fighters, Floyd was the CONSENSUS Pound-for-pound number one fighter. Writers, fans, critics , etc all had the freedom to put Pac in that position. But they did not. They freely and willingly put Floyd in that position.

The fans had the option to buy as many of Pac's or pavlik's fights as they wanted. They chose to buy FAR more of Floyd's fights.

Again...what am i missing here?? Wishful thinking on your part doesn't make it so.

Sure there was... Hopkins became the consensus #1 fighter. Immediately. When hop lost, flod became #1.

You either do not remember....or are re-writing history. Do you think there was a "vacant" spot on the Ring Mag rankings?

Look at the front page of NSB and tell me the sport has moved on from Floyd.

Tell me what I just said that was even remotely inaccurate.

I am an HONEST person. I focus on THE FACTS. Some of you guys take hating to a new level.

the ONLY fighter I have ever called a coward is Acelino Freitas. Wanna know why? Because, er, um, he acted cowardly in the ring multiple times.

I watched the Corley fight, which was one week after Roy got KTFO by Tarver.
During the telecast, you here Lampley scream, "Floyd Mayweather trying to supplant Roy Jones atop the pound for pound list and playing a game of Russian Roulette with Demarcus Corley!"

They didn't clearly give it to anyone until Hopkins had fought and beaten De La Hoya in September of that same year.

entertainment value for the casual fan. that is the MOST important thing when it comes to the growth of boxing.
