    Not surprising.

Floyd, pound for pound means fighting guys at higher weights, not lower ones.
    Exactly!

We need more posters like you.

You have wisdom my good man.

    A rarity in this forum.

Who was the smaller guy he was gunning for for first?

This annoys me, if your retired Floyd then don't critisize guys still fighting!

I have a feeling he will come back and fight Pac if Pac beats Hatton at 140. To me, this would be annoying as hell as he should be fighting Cotto (Unless Cotto loses in the meanwhile).

I'm telling you he's got green in the eyes and is looking for the largest pay check out there, and that's COTTO.... right now its just COTTO fighting Margarito while Mayweather is "RETIRED". I bet once Cotto fights and IF he wins, MAYWEATHER will be in the news talking **** about how he will return. BUT LIKE YOU said until then we can stick to the facts..........
That we shall see attitude proves nothing.

          Facts are obvious in itself

          Gayweather admitted he's a coward.

Nobody can dispute that as it came from Gayweather's own words.

*****-retiring when the welter div is full of elites.

          Again it's non-disputable.

Id give more respect to a Jones who AT THE VERY LEAST fought elites consistently and BEAT MOST OF THEM.

Now tell me dude, why do you admire Gayweather when you're a Jones fan who in his prime fought top opposition?

What about pissing on your pants when faced by Margarito.

Man I look at STYLES, SPEED, POWER and BOXING ABILITIES. ROY JONES JR: I don't need to explain. If you watch boxing love or hate Jones you know what HE HAS DONE FOR THE SPORT. As far as Mayweather: I like how he tells it as it is, he talks ****, brings it to the ring and DOES exactly what he said he would do. He also understands the showmanship and business side. Dude sells boxing, puts the asses in the seats and makes a hell of a lot of money doing it. No MATTER what he says, YOU ALL listen. That takes talent. The man owned the sport. Regardless of what everyone thinks he is/was the BEST P4P. Now talking about some of his opponents and decisions maybe have not been the greatest, but they sure where the smartest and I like how every fight he comes in 100% and ready to fight and is probably the hardiest trainer I have ever watched. I think a lot of him is ACT. Just like ALI, TALKED A LOT OF **** to sell/make his name. I like that. Anyway you may not understand. But I like his mentality about the sport.

Jones is a HOF fighter who fought top guys.

Can you say that to Gayweather?

                Oh cmon!

He said he's gonna beat up Baldo yet he ran like a chicken and his own fans booed him and walked out on him.

Ali talks a lot of **** yet his resume backs it up.

Gayweather talks a lot of **** yet his resume is Gatti, Judah and Baldomir.

Roy Jones fought his fair share of nobodies as well. Both are still hall of famers. Floyd's resume isn't great but its still pretty good. Gatti was a champion when Floyd fought him and it was at 140. People back then were picking Gatti. People didn't expect what ended up happening. Judah is a fair fighter. Baldomir was target practice.

Well I don't know if you had a weight class in mind here, but these IMO are decent fighters:

                    Diego Corrales (RIP)
                    Jesus Chavez
                    Jose Luis Castillo (twice)
                    DeMarcus Corley
                    Arturo Gatti
                    Zab Judah
                    Carlos Baldomir
                    Oscar De La Hoya
                    Ricky Hatton

Hopefully soon I can add COTTO and maybe even PAC-MAN if the MONEY is right. Anyway IMO all these fighters look good on his resume. All took place within the last 7 or so years.

                      Casa, Frei - 135
                      Spafa, Kostya - 140
Cotto, Margarito, Berto, Williams, etc - 147

The only name worth mentioning as an elite in his resume is Castillo

                      Honorable mentions are Corrales.

A win against a bloated Hatton at welter doesn't add much.

                      Oh cmon!

Is that resume already enough to ensure HOF status.

I didn't knew Americans HAVE DRASTICALLY LOWERED STANDARDS OF BOXING GREATNESS.

At least us Filipinos measure greatness thru resume, courage, dignity.

                      Oh cmon!
