At htis point of RJJ's career, how can calzaghe say such things? Fight of my life? I find that one corny. Calzaghe must fight pavlik to seal his legacy and not some over the hill former p4p king who is clearly not even a shadow of his former self. Man up joe and call kelly out and not some legend you want to put in your resume'.

The Calzaghe fanboys are still sleeping, I think. Which is why this thread hasn't descended into biased, nuthugging spin. Yet.

Ricky, especially, had a late Saturday night. I think he must have stayed around on NSB until about 6am.

But the fanboys will be coming soon. They have a radar when it comes to Calzaghe threads on here. They'll drop whatever it is they're doing to come and defend their God. You know, it's kinda amazing how much time they expend on defending a person who doesn't even know of their existence. Sure is something, huh?

This threads like walking into a class room full of angry kids attacking a teacher because they can't have what they want, with rants of "you don't know nothing, thats not cool, I know best".

Seriously ppl, it's boxing, why the **** do you care sooo much?

Coincidence most of you are American. Did you give Mayweather, a true ducker, such a hard time, and abuse for genuinely ducking Cotto and others time and time again, fighting ODL again, and retiring early? Way worse you tools. Find a balance, without your cynical, subjective, negative, biased sides taking over.

Calzaghe has for ages now said Jones is his first preference, your just crying because there seemed hope of a Pavlik fight. Well like Joe and many ppl say, Pavlik is taylor made for Calzaghe, it'd be Lacy Kessler all over again. Funny how most ppl don't say how shot Roy is until recently, realising he's likely to lose. Fact is Calzaghe's no.1 in 2 weight divisions, he's favourite to beat anyone. The way in which he'll beat them is less clear with someone like Roy, because he's style is changing, and he has the attributes, boxing skills, and tactics to really test Joe.

What happened to standing by your guy? Hopkins was 44 you egits, and best wins came post 40. Ok Roy messed around with his weight but he's demonstrated he's a terrific athlete against the odds, and it's more than reasonable to expect the same again. He'd be disapointed having demonstrated he still has it within, can train, be tactical, choose how to fight to win, adapt, and overcome the odds.

Both guys are past they're primes, get over it. Pavlik gets beaten easier in a more predictable fight. Roy Jones Joe Calzaghe fight will be terrific for boxing, the guys have have had over 100 pro fights in they're careers between them, and have fought the best. It'll bring in a bigger commercial audience into a great fight between 2 great athletes, the odds not massively favoring either, the fight or result not predictable no matter what some of you cynics rant on about. We need that, esp at a time when a true ducker like Mayweather has ducked out of fighting in a big commercial friendly fight. Onwards...

Joe's last fight will be against Roy? Roy isnt the same person, and like Calzaghe said,he was the man in the 1990s,NOT 2008

Hes lost alot of respect from me

They're both as bad as each other. Are you able to admit that? Or is what Calzaghe doing somehow different to Mayweather?

Hopkins had come off wins to Tarver and Wright, post 40. A lot said he was shot. It's clearly just excuses, top athletes like Hopkins and Jones are damn fit, have bodies of way younger, and are developing they're games to suite they're reduced stamina. They have masses of ring intelligence, tactics, and are sound at almost everything. Your just building up the excuse for a Roy loss, before it's even happened, and it's no definite either way.

Mayweather genuinely ducked Cotto amongst some others which lets not go into, over a period of years. Calzaghe has several fight options on the table for once, he says he's most likely to pick the one he always said was his 1st preference, and you guys make out he's ducking Pavlik, lol your making **** up its so chidish and subjective it's unreal.

Jones and Calzaghe are only a few years apart and both past they're primes, Roy's a tad older and more mileage, ok so what but he's progressively changing his game to suite and can raise it. Calzaghe seriously suffers with hand injuries and brittle hands, has lost a lot of power cos they break mid fight, don't hear you talking of that quite serious hindrance to Calzaghe's form. Funny that, ppl choosing what to credit or exaggerate to suite.
