exactly!!! and what's is most impressive this is as white as an event as it can get(other than mabye kentucky derby) and here you have this ****** black boxer with a ****** upbringing, ****** father and he's waiving the flag in front of 100,000 fans, national tv with millions of viewers and yet people get bothered by it lol. And if someone thinks this doesnt help boxing get recognition then i dunno what to tell them.

They'd say the same thing about Cotto

Fans: "Miguel Angel Cotto?...looks like another n**ger to me"

I don't know why you guys are hating on him. Hes not just marketing himself. Every time the man is in a event he is annouced as "The number one P4P in BOXING" He's being smart by maximizing profit. He's making sure that everyone an they mama knows who he is. That way when the PPV's roll around...more money more money. Alot of you hated on the wrestling thing but the fact of the matter is, he made a great business relationship. The WWE is actually helping promote his next fight. Hate on the opponents he is picking, not the business moves that make perfect sense.

A coward is the STRAWBERRY MARGARITA...who turned down a Mayweather bout to fight an UNRANKED..SHOT..has-been...like Manuel Gomez..

Floyd sure does fight off the ropes a lot for a coward...not to mention the fact that he's usually smaller than the guys he beats..

Mayweather has more balls than Cotto and Strawberry Marge COMBINED..
Too bad for Floyd that he can't get them out of your mouth.

now, all we need to do make him fight Cotto and, most important, BE EXCITING.
I mean really, it cant be that hard to throw 45 punches a round. that still isnt a lot, but for someone as accurate as Floyd he would at least double how exciting he is to watch. and honestly, I think he would be just as effective if he threw combos instead of pot shotted

really, its a damn shame. I enjoy watching him fight because of the skills, but if he could only just pick up his punch output and not rely on potshotting...I mean, potshotting isnt even incredibly skilled, its based more on reflexes and having a frustrated opponent chase after you.
I agree on higher output=more fun, but Floyd's potshotting takes mad skills, because of what he is preventing the other guy from doing: throwing his punches. He does it by potshotting with the occasional sharp counters, movement, showing different angles, changing rhythm, there is a lot of skills in having a bigger (or faster as was the case with judah) guy stop throwing punches on you.

It's negative, it's not fun, doesnt mean it does not take skills as something ”flashier“ does.

it definately takes skill, but personally I think that someone who stays in the pocket and avoids shots is showing more skill than someone who is using the ring to avoid them. just as someone being able to throw combinations and land them on an opponent is showing more skill than someone who throws one shot at a time.

Im definately not saying that Mayweather isnt showing skill when he potshots, he sure as hell does, thats very clear. but I think he could reveal more of his skills to us if he were to throw combinations because not many people have the handspeed or ability to be able to put punches together so well.
Mayweather's p4p rating went skyrocketing when he was able to land triple right hands on Gatti, and p4p is supposed to be a pretend idea about who is the most skillful and everything, so...

but I guess in the end it depends on what you think 'skills' are.
