You know it doesn't quite work that way, and Calzaghe is only "British" to English fans as long as he wins.

That's a bit unfair. I support Hatton and Calzaghe as British fighters but I also recognise they are Welsh and English respectively. I didn't try and distance myself from Hatton when he lost and I won't if Joe loses.

I hate commenting on these kind of topics and people should know the difference between Wales and England but they do have almost the same accent. Somebody not attuned to British accents wouldn't be able to distinguish. Listen to Catherine Zeta Jones talk.

Catherine Zeta Jones has flattened and Americanised her accent to get more work.

If Americans think they sound the same, then they don't to me. AT ALL.

I dont know I dont live there. I havn't heard thousands of Welsh people talk but in my limited scope the people I've heard talk sound similar to a basic southen or mid England accent. I dont know about individual city accents or ****neys or whatever. I was using Catherine Zeta Jones as a basic example maybe that was flawed.

Anyway, I find it slightly hypocritical to judge people for their lack of knowledge on European geography.

Should I judge you because you don't know the difference between an 'allocated' mutual fund and a 'balanced' mutual fund? Well, I don't judge because I know something that others don't. I know this because I work at a bank. You know the difference between Welsh and English, because well, you live there.

So, what have we learned tonight?

Well, that Anorak's a provocative bastard who likes to make points. But we've also learned that 90% of Yank posters are so ****ing thick they can't understand a VERY simple point even when you explain it to them 50 times over.

I don't give a **** if people "don't care" that there's a difference between English or Welsh, and I do understand that both can be "British".

The INCREDIBLY SIMPLE POINT I'm making is that I can't believe the amount of dopey Yanks who seem to think that Joe and Ricky Hatton have the same fanbase. It's TWO SEPERATE COUNTRIES, dumbos. Why am I reading "Will Hatton's fans boo Hopkins like they did Floyd?"

Joe's fans will come over from Wales with a completely different culture and background, and instead of "Boo", you'll hear "baa" as they **** all the sheep silly. There WILL be some English fans there, but it will be a minority.
