They both had their ups and downs.
Back to McCallum: His wins in his prime equal a who's who of the best fighters (they were very, very good fighters as well) of that era. I find it very sad people have forgotten how damn good he was!
He won his WBA belt and beat such greats as Julian Jackson (his first loss), Milton McCrory and KO'd Donald 'The Cobra' Curry. He then lost a disputed decision to Sambu Kalambay. He then regained it by beating the defensive great Herol Graham and went on to beat Steve Collins, Michael Watson and beat Sambu Kalambay in a rematch. He then drew with Toney. He dropped the rematch though was already old by this stage but he still went up to LHW and beat the great Australian LHW champion Jeff Harding. After this he lost to Jones Jr and again to Toney though was shot by this stage. A three weight world champ with 50 wins and five losses. Three of those to Toney and Jones Jr in his old age, one to Kalambay and another to some French LHW champ. His only loss in his prime being the disputed decision to Kalambay.
