RICKY HATTON: "I can't stop crying."

Squealpiggy and other Hattonites will have you believe that hatton was confident he could beat Floyd, had the gameplan to beat Floyd, and was en route to beating Floyd before Cortez ruined Ricky's world in the 6th.
Hatton was confident he would beat Floyd, he was confident he had the gameplan to do it and he gave it a good go for six rounds at which point he got frustrated and his lack of control really let him down.
The refereeing was a shame (unless you are suggesting that the refereeing had ZERO impact on this fight) because it prevented us from finding out if Hatton could continue to make it a fight, and if Floyd could really beat Hatton at his own game without Cortez splitting them up every time Hatton showed the upper hand.
If Floyd won as easily as you are suggesting then would he have really said that Ricky was among the toughest guys he fought? What did he say about Gatti after the fight? The same thing he said before, he's a C+ fighter. If Hatton was as crap as you're suggesting then Floyd must be a real ***** to find him a tough fight.

Joe Cortez kept telling Ricky to work on the inside and he wouldn't do it
Had somebody like Miguel Cotto been that close to Floyd, he would have worked with bodyshots coming up to the head instead of clinching....trust.
Floyd always gives credit to his fighters after he beats them.
Floyd just tried being nice........it's not a legitimate statement about Hatton being his toughest opponent.

Floyd was knocked off balance...I think Emmanuel said the same thing, which is also why Hatton didn't jump on his ass. You can tell by Floyd's behavior that he wasn't hurt and I'm sure since Hatton was up close, he could tell in Floyd's eyes if he was hurt or not...he wasn't at all.
Corley stunned him/hurt Floyd. Crazy thing is, the freak of nature Floyd is, when being stunned is supposed to make you have slow reactions, his reactions just went down a notch, which meant he was only a semi-God, not a God, but still greater than the rest of the mortals. He also fought back and was kicking ass. I remember my friend saying afterwards, "Damn, I like Floyd but I wish he would get hurt more...****ing exciting fighter when he his hurt, boring as **** when he is not." I've always liked his fights up to that point so I disagreed with the last part, but one out of two isn't bad.

squealpiggy;2970466 says: No he didn't. He separated the fighters the instant Hatton looked like he was about to punch.
OK so you think Cotto is going to be the one to beat Floyd?
Ah so you're saying Floyd is a liar then?
I see, that's definitely saying that he's a liar.
Floyd also said right after the fight, "One of the toughest opponents" and not "The toughest opponents." If he changed his mind a bit later on when he had regular clothes on, I cannot remember, but still, read my words above.

1. Hatton only won 2 rounds. He was very active and put alot of pressure on PBF! But ask yourself was it affective? NO!
2. How was the ref protecting Floyd when it was clready Floyd winning the Toe to Toe battles. Common Sense people!
3. I don't consider Floyd a liar but I must say...He was lieing when he said Hatton was his toughest opponent.
4. Anyone who thought Hatton was ahead and could have won if not for the K.O is simply a crack head.
5. Chop Chop, JLC, DLH, Zab Judah, Augustus, Chavez did better then Hatton. If u think ineffective aggression wins fights! then u are simply dumb!!
Oh and BTW Hatton tried his best and I can atleast respect that!!

Watch the Mayweather vs. Chavez clip...see how Chavez is up close and ****ing away at Floyd, but, unlike Hatton, Chavez isn't holding so it leaves the few inches Floyd needs to counter. If Hatton didn't hold so much, this is what would have happened much earlier. Holding saved Hatton.
Oh, and I think this was the fight Billy was watching on 24/7 in his Vegas hotel room. He looked worried.Last edited by Benny Leonard; 12-22-2007, 12:11 AM.
