Thomas didn't want to talk about that but offered, "Hypothetically, you can see how a company at the end of its calendar-year budget would want to time payments a bit. Almost anything Showtime would ask of us, if it was in our power, we would do. They've been very good to us over the years, and we would welcome an opportunity to reciprocate."

Please read my post # 345. Isn't that exactly what I said?

He has all the right tools. He will analyze you, 44 year old champ still has great stamina, and you simply wont hit him much. Lightweight- Light Heavy, still ruled by North America. Can't knock Calzaghe too much cause he still has the 0 on the record, BUT I need some Veteran opponents to lose to him before he gets more credit. Like I said, overhyped Lacy, and Kessler???

For example: Last night was calzaghe's biggest fight. But where would it rank among DLH/PBF/Tito/PAc?
But you win. I'm an idiot.
DLH is the best looking fighter with the most charisma, recognized for his gold medal and his countless achievements inside the ring. Tito is Tito, dynamite in both hands, very charismatic. Pacman is a buzzsaw that gives you great attraction each time out. PBF is a prodigy with a nasty persona. A lot of people like to see him lose and he's been fortunate to be in match-ups with fighters who had great following.
DLH is a white hispanic who also have very good looks. He also has an amazing talent. Of course he'll draw the most. Tito, very similar, the latinos in the US are the largest minority group. PBF is in the hip-hop community.
How about Jermain Taylor? He was a p4p before Kelly got his no? How about Hopkins, he's still p4p. Winky, Tarver, nobody wants to see these guys fight. Hopkins was fortunate to fight DLH and Tito. So was Winky. Tarver was fortunate to fight Roy Jones.
My final word, hopefully, is that HBO could have great show on US land but they could still have successful shows abroad, why skip an opportunity. AS many people will buy Calzaghe vs Bhop regardless whether the fight is in US or UK, that is from the US side. But promoters can make more money from the live gate as they usually do.

Just semantics. They lost money DIOS.
You don't "lose revenue". What the article referred to was bottom-line profits or net margin. REVENUE IS TOP LINE.
The fact that you are blending and confusing revenue and profits is insane to me.
There was poor margin flow-through for that fight. Clearly because of the purses. The costs were too high.
WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE BEEN SAYING THROUGHOUT THIS THREAD.
