Yes. He does. Your opinion is uninformed.

Mayweather has CLASSICAL AND FUNDAMENTAL boxing skills that Roy Jones did not. Roy's greatness was highly dependent on his otherworldly athleticism.

Floyd, by contrast, has a highly developed defense that allows him to defend "in the pocket". Even when Floyd is NOT moving (i.e on the ropes), he does not eat shots.

That defensive style and inside fighting capability is also a hallmark of James Toney. Look at how it has enabled JT to move up in weight and fight bigger guys even when he has gotten old and out-of-shape.

PBF can apply very different fighting styles. Roy Jones never showed that.

PBF can circle and pick his shots as he did vs Corrales, Castillo 2, Delahoya and the 2nd half of Baldomir.

He can walk you down as he did vs Judah, 1st half of Baldomir and Sharmba.

He can be a good bodypuncher: Bruseles, Sharmba, Gatti, Judah.

Or he can go into "brawl mode": Chavez, NDou, and Corley.

Roy Jones, Jr was a superb fighter and untouchable at his peak. But PBF is a more well-rounded fighter with more sound fundamentals.

Additionally - and it must be said - you have to wonder what effect going off the steroids had on Roy Jones.

Some of those fighters weren't big overrated names lke PBF but they were exceptional fighters.
Roy Jones dominated TWO sure-fire Hall of Famers in their primes.

People may clown RJJ for what he has become at the end of his career, but please remember that James Toney was P4P at the time that Roy made him look like a scrub.

I always wonder why it is a shame if you have athletism you have to train the **** too. Roy's reflexes, speed and the other things did'nt come out of nowhere.

In a recent interview Roy said he accepts Floyd as P4P 1

              I AGREE.

Floyd gets way too much flak. I believe his opposition was very good, i cant understand people who say he hasnt beaten anyone. That is ****in ******.

I think floyd has a point there. If you consider "the best" as the people who hold the belts, you can say he beat the best. He has always looked to fight all beltholders and fact is he took all 5 belts in 5 weight divisions. Can't ask much more than that. I'll give him credit and i take no offense whatsoever if mayweather doesn't return to the ring. I also think he is right if is it really true RJJ is still saying he is the best at 38. He meant no desrespect to Jones, he only stated he finds sad a fighter in his 38 is still claiming to be the best. As comparisons they are not possible directly has Jones is a much bigger man.

It was never confirmed by a legit source that Roy Jones Jr. took steroids his whole career. He only tested positive once and he said it was Ripped Fuel and a sinus medication he was taking. Is he telling the truth? I don't know, I'm just saying that what he said. Theres no REAL proof he took roids his whole career. Its people speculating...

lets see floyd vs roy, after all, roy started at middleweight and fought a 215 pound man, floyd started at 130 so lets see him against a 175 guy and lets see if he can do the same, and since he thinks roy is so bad, why not him?????
