He faces real amateur competition. I question his height, reach, and power as a pro which I estimate at 5'8 1/2", height, 71 " reach, and below 65% KO ratio ( it is currently reads just 4 ko's in amateur 30 fights. Where are the official measurements? So I was wrong about Dubois winning.
Didn't get the PM either...bizarre although this has happened before with KOVALEVKO so it's hardly surprising. Anyhow, I DISAGREE with the notion that Dev needs to prove himself at the Olympics against 'real amateur competition'. After all, have you forgotten that he already won Bronze aged 22 competing against men at the 2023 MEN'S World Amateur Championships? In fact, he was unlucky to lose a SD against a Kazakh fighter who was 7 years older with a 100+ more fights on his resume who eventually won Gold. Therefore, Nishant has ALREADY proven himself as an elite amateur fighter and knowing how regularly he gets robbed (including the Omari Jones loss), I'd almost bet on it happening a third time at the Olympics.

As for a pro career, nobody knows until he steps in the ring although his height, reach and power certainly haven't hindered him against top amateur opposition.

Dev was one of the last 4 men to qualify for the Olympics, and he is rated #14 at box rec in his amateur weight class. He has nothing to prove, you say? He is not eltete. LOL.

      //boxrec.com/en/box-am/1037559

At 23 he is a mature man, and by the way the last opponent he lost to was only 21. He faces a field of good fighters in the Olympics who changed their qualification system to ensure better fighters. Dev has been boxing since 2019. It is 2024. It is time you stop playing the newbie card.

He is not elite , has beaten nobody of note in the amateurs.

I leave to you to hype Indian men to the moon who have accomplished nothing. It is your MO. A little hype is fine by the way, but when you say things that are not so...

If he goes pro, I suspect will be a shrimp middleweight who I guess to be about 5'8 1/2" with an estimated reach of 70" inches will be " out numbered " @ middle weight. Can he hit? The man has but 4 KO's in 30 amatuer fights. That's a no. But his footwork is special. He better lay off the samosas and butter chicken! Fighter's tend to gain weight as they age.

Let's see how he does in the 2024 Olympics. If he gets a hard draw Dev could be OUT in round one or two.

As the only Indian man ( I think ) to qualify he is the hope of a nation with a billion+ people.

This is a factual boxing post, I can PM you it if necessary.

Hahaha I stopped reading this BS post after you claimed that Dev was not elite…he has a World Amateur Bronze medal as a 22yo and STEAMROLLED 9 out of 10 opponents in the 2 Olympic qualifiers only losing to Omari Jones (World Amateur Silver medallist) by MD in the final who even the commentators thought he beat. That **** is ELITE.

Also, after your hat-trick of Ls recently (Sheeraz destroyed Ammo, 2 Indian men qualified for the Olympics & Dubois stopped Hrgovic), your opinion has lost a LOT of credibility.

Anyway, I know where this is heading so will just end it here.

HisExcellency Don't even bother man. Not worth your time.

Dev looked GREAT winning those 4 fights in a row.

This analysis isn't done on an even playing field. Bias and hatred for others is factored in to this.

"I leave you to hype Indian men to the moon and back."

Says the man who said "Hrgovic could be a Hall of Fame fighter." Who couldn't even hang with Dubois at all. Anthony Joshua would've ABSOLUTELY KILLED Hrgovic.

Loooool @ ‘Hrgovic could be a hall of fame fighter’ is the definition of INSANITY. Anybody who knows boxing knew he was nothing special after the Zhang fight and would easily be taken apart by a ‘grade B’ Heavyweight like Dubois

Anyway, I think I’ll take a leaf out of your book and put Z on the back-burner for a while until he regains some credibility by making some CORRECT fight calls!

The thing is the analysis used to make such a statement isn't made on an even playing field but bias and favoritism is used to make such a statement.

Even after Hamzah completely dominates Ammo Williams all of a sudden Ammo becomes a "Hype Job". A form of just keep moving the goal posts.

Making statements such as 1 Billion + people are only capable of succeeding as jockeys and in lower weight classes is the small fixed mindset that you're debating with.

Lmao Z says Nishant Dev isn't a TOP amateur fighter yet his record stands at 24-6 with 4 of those losses being either SD/MD to fighter's with a combined record of 228-62 (79% win ratio).

Not bad for a 23yo from India who only started competing 5 years ago and already won Bronze at the 2023 MEN'S World Amateur Championships and only has 2 SD/MD wins out of 24 victories (including a win over the highly rated Marco Verde). Every other victory has either been a UD or KO including the 7 guys he hammered at both Olympic qualifiers.

                Dev is a beauty...

#14 at box rec in his amateur weight class is not elite! Please.

Ammo was overrated and had no bullets to fire in his guns. He landed what 7 jabs in 12 rounds? Yep.

If my predictions are so bad why not bet me? If you can't afford to lose, I will bet you a signature bet. You passed on one before. New terms, Dev the your " Elite " guy will not win gold in the Olympics 2024 games. I think I know where your reply to the bet is heading.

Here comes the point where ethnic pride of your " elite " amateur meets reality in the form of a bet. Who will win this internal struggle, your mind which knows Dev is not elite or your pride? As they say time will tell.

You set the terms of the bet. If you don't wish to risk money, no worries I'll wager you a signature bet for three months. Winner picks the loser's signature. So there really is no cost to you.

If you back out, it will only cost you some pride. Are we on?

Lol I DON'T believe that Nishant will win Gold so won't take that bet (although given your track record for Ls I probably should ).

Anyhow, just to recap...if this ISN'T elite for a 23yo amateur Middleweight then what is?

                      1) World Amateur Bronze at 22yo narrowly losing to eventual Gold medal winner via SD
                      2) 24-6 amateur record with 4 losses being either SD/MD to fighter's with a combined record of 228-62 (79% win ratio)
                      3) 2 out of 24 victories coming via SD/MD (including a win over Marco Verde) with the remaining 22 wins via UD/KO
                      4) Won 7 out of 8 bouts across 2 Olympic qualifiers via UD/KO losing only to Omari Jones (World Amateur Silver) via MD in a fight commentator's thought he won

Here he is in action against the Kazakh World Amateur Gold medallist who was 7 years older with 100+ more fights experience...
