Ali certainly belongs in such a top 20. His will to win, toughness were second to none as was his ability to rise to the occasion to win against the toughest opposition determined to win. THEN add to this that jab that sliced opponents to ribbons, unmatched speed, combination punching, footwork, head movement, slipping. Very hard to find a fancy Dan boxer with that high level of toughness. The hardest punchers in boxing history tried to knock him out. All failed. Only one knocked him down.

Watching chinny, undersized Frazier beat the piss out of Ali (at his very best, no less), I have no idea how anyone would put Ali near ANY p4p list.
Unless of course it's an attention whore.

I think the top 15 are locks
Sugar Ray Robinson
Harry Greb
Ezzard Charles
Henry Armstrong
Sam Langford
Muhammad Ali
Manny Pacquiao
Roberto Duran
Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Archie Moore
Sugar Ray Leonard
Joe Louis
Willie Pep
Bob Fitzsimmons
Benny Leonard
Then you have 10 guys fighting for the last 5 spots
Tunney, Jones, Walker, Monzon, Hagler, Ross, Canzoneri, Whitaker, Gans and Wilde

1- Ray Robinson
Will be interesting to see how long he remains at number 1 in the greatest pound for pound list?
