Was Lennox the Dawn of the SuperHeavyweights?

I used to think Lennox was a once in a lifetime talent. A guy with awesome height, speed, size and Athleticism that could never be duplicated...

Then came the Klitschkos who were a tad taller, and about as athletic as Len was...then came 6'8 Tyson Fury, then 6'7 Deontay Wilder, 6'6 Anthony Joshua etc.

This division hasn't had a threat under 6'4 since 1997! I'm afraid we are in the era of SuperHeavyweights and there's no going back.

The Lewis and even the Klitschko era wasn't really such a superHW era, besides the Klitschkos most of the HW's were much smaller than them.

Now it's closer to reality, with the top guys all being huge(AJ, Wilder, Fury etc) as well as the contenders.

I dont think is the Era is more how boxing is run now days it doesn't matter how much talent u have out there now days is about the money unlike before it was about pride and who was the best

The perfect heavyweight is still about 6'3". The right package that height will wipe out all galoots. The behemoths always lack something. If nothing else, it is stamina. Look around, Half the galoots could not even punch. Fury has the punch of a gal, and moved like Ali with a wooden leg.

Also, as far as the OP's question the answer imo is a definite "maybe" Lets see who is next, Joshua is not the head of the line yet either.

anyone who actually thinks this is the era of super heavyweights just doesn't know enough boxing history. these huge buffoons have been around forever. The Kbros weren't as good as Lewis because they lost to the worst version of him.

I made a thread earlier exposing the myth of these huge men, they have been around forever.

I also don't see this dynamic athletcism you speak of, these guys are terrible and show little ability. Lewis had skill but at 6 ft 5 he was still in range of being a normal human being, and even he was never quite tested by a real threat, although he was a quality HW by any means.

It is what you have going for your size. If you have only decent power for a heavyweight but can hit your opponents several times before they can react a la young Clay, you will whip all galoots. Speed will always be one of the critical factors in boxing.
