Who would have thought you'd bash the boxers of old, just because they didn't compete in your lifetime. You remind me of a young sci-fi fan who thinks sci-fi movies weren't any good until the original Star Wars in 1977, completely disregarding films like Logan's Run, The original Time Machine and War of the Worlds. You're a contrarian and a hater who always goes against the tide, so he can always claim he's smarter than everyone else and too hip for the room. Sell ****** some place else. We're all stocked up here. Nobody here is buying your drivel.

I go with Hearns..tall lengthy and the hardest puncher imop........SRR did have holes in his defense not sure how that is actually arguable if you study the footage? The sparing session below is that of Hearns showing briefly how good he is even with Ali,though old Ali.Hearns caught some tough breaks...on his best day I would want his skills out of the list.

First off Sugar Ray as a welter was better than Mayweather on defense!
He could move and box better than Mayweather could ever dream of thats the facts sorry if your to young to know this but if you could learn to read anything except boxrec you'd know this.
second when Robinson changed his methodology and started to step and punch through opponents he discovered that testing his power and his opponents power early in a bout would unable him to decide to work for a tko
or last to a decs.
When you decide to go for power shots you commit to be in range of your opponent and when you have a quality challenger you will get hit!
Also try to digest the FACTS that in Robinson time LIVE performances where how and when you were judged! If Mayweather fought in that era and handled himself as he has for the past 7-9 years no promoter would USE HIM!
A counter move counter punch boxer was not a good draw on a live show.
As to Ali sparring anyone who knows anything about Ali knows he hardly ever worked offense in spar sessions. He was cover and turn and hold, then release just as he used in a fight. After sparring he would go to the heavy bag and work on stamina and power.
To compare lil' Floyd to TBE is unbelieveable to me, Robinson would destroy the guy. If someone here thinks lil' Floyd could hurt Sugar Ray I have swamp land to sell you!!!
Floyd 5'8" 140lbs best weight
Sugar 5'11" 155lbs best weight
Robinson has over 300 bouts and went 80-0 TWICE
Floyd is 49-0, 40 were hand picked guys.
Floyd at welter would be defeated by many top ten welters, without power he gets whipped by guys who would steam roll him. You saw a guy like Maidana have success imagine a Basilio or Kid Gavilan attacking him?
Robinson would KO Floyd theres no doubt in my mind! Robinson could get mean in a second and theres no mean in Floyd, he can't punch!

Why do you people keep using floyd at welter as an example..
Floyd was at his best at 130, and at 130 he did everything damn near perfect, and wasn't just a defensive fighter like he was in his mid to late 30s at welter and jr mid..
p4p at 130, floyd is one of the most skillful guys ever.. There isn't anything he doesn't do great..
footwork
jab
body shots
cutting off the ring
power punching
shoulder roll
high guard
straight punches
distance
etc
etc..
I can't think of one trait that floyd didn't perform at an above average rate
sure at 147 he wasn't much of an offensive fighter, but hearns wasn't exactly an offensive juggernaut when he went to 168 or 175..
Its a double standard to use prime form of robinson, hearns, etc and then compare them to an old, up in weight, past his prime floyd... Just use 130 floyd when he was untouchable, and had great power,, he hurt everyone when he landed flush

I think it was Pep, because its alot easier to look skillful when you have a range speed advantage power or chin advantage.
Pep had none of those in the great quan****** the others had.
Also do you think Mayweather is more skillful than Pep since skill is something that may accumulate and improve with time like knowledge does?
Throw it in the water, boom, fish float to the top. Easy money.
OMG.
Btw, went to a bar in Roppongi Tokyo, failed miserably!!! Zero for 10? My buddy used to say, my luck is so bad that 'if it was raining poon, I would get hit with a dong! I go home in defeat! Swinging all night!
But, let the fans laugh at an older player, but at least I am in the game!!! I am in the game. Not a sideline hater! I failed, failed awesomely. But I am in the game!
