At ring center getting referee Zak Clayton's instructions in their epic fight. "The Rumble in the Jungle" it is clear that Muhammad Ali is over an inch or more taller than Foreman..
The Website Boxrec is the biggest culprit for false information!
Muhammed Ali was 6ft 2.5 (189).
Foreman was 6ft 3 (191).
The human loses half an inch within the first 3/4 hours of being standing. Gravity compresses our spine. Ali would of been 6ft 3 first thing in the morning but shorter by fight time. Same for foreman and any boxer!
Joe Louis was 6ft 1.5 (187).

seriously lets all put this clown on ignore and just block him out of discussions. If all section regulars do it we can freeze the idiot out with ease.

I would like to know whether Marciano was 5'9", 5'10" or 5'11". I would like to know whether Robinson was 5'10" or 5'11'. I would like to know where between 6' and 6'2" Joe Louis fell.
Someone supposedly reputable like Wiki-pejia publishes a figure and other sites jump on the bandwagon. Where did they get their figures? It was not from a tape measure.
If fans, experts and record keepers cannot agree on the height of a fighter, just forget the rest of it about who beats who, etc. Why should we take anyone seriously unless they are standing there with a tape measure? We know they simply looked on Wiki-pejia.
I want the skeletons of Louis, Marciano and Robinson exhumed for measurements.
Tyson 5'9 to 5'11 1/2
Foreman 6'3 to 6'3 1/2 to 6'4
Ali 6'2 - 6'3
Duran 5'7 to 5'7 1/2
Leonard 5'9 -5'11
Also take into account height, some may have longer necks, so they don't really seem that tall measuring from the shoulders. Foreman always seemed big because he was 6'3 1/2 I believe, but most of it was body, a short neck.
I think a lot of stats get inflated these days for intimidation purposes. Especially re-hydration weights. My coach was a decent pro in the 90's and 00's he said they would lie to intimidate the opponent. In general cutting 20 lbs in one day is never going to make your stronger.
Marquez is listed at 5'7 but I swear he's only 5'5
Duran was listed as 5'7 as well but seemed almost eye to eye with 5'9 1/2 hagler.
If Floyd is 5'8 then Maidana must be barely 5'7.

Prior to needing scans and health certificates some state commisions also measured height when weighing in along with eye exams and reflex exams.
Some newspapers printed the weights and heights as added information for the boxing fans. I'm pretty sure the New York commision measured height when a fighter made his initial appearance under their rules. In the early years of commisions the New York State was the best in the country.
This was long before Las Vegas boxing became a mecca for big shows.
....heres my opinion on a few more mentoned;
Marciano 5'11"
Robinson 5' 11"
Louis 6' 2"
Duran 5' 7"
Leonard 5' 10"
Ali 6' 3 1/2"
Foreman 6' 4"
Pep 5' 5 1/2"
