He was an outstanding boxer by the time he signed to face Louis.
He got greedy for a second with Louis and the lights went out!

I doubt big Gene would have much need of his chin. Scuffin' Joe was that slow on his feet. With those feet he will need arms like Plastic Man that can stretch across the ring to hit Gene while he is still in his corner. The marine has too much mustard gas for Joe, and may even foam him out, if the likes of Schmeling can do it.
