As for Wlad's resume being clean: Plenty of fighters have been disqualified for doing less clinching than Wlad typically does.

He also landed about as many shots to the back of Biko Botowamungu's head as he did to the front of it.

I guess you must of forgot the part where Muhammad Ali clinched plenty of times in his career, as for 'rabbit' punching he never intentionally did it If you stepped inside the ring and tried fighting once or twice you'd realize that it can be unavoidable at times.

One Lamon Brewster isn't a bum
Two the other two heavyweights he lost to had legitimate punching power and If you don't take the right gameplan to a fight at that weight anything can happen it doesn't mean that he isn't better than those fighters.

If Ali was as good as some say he is he would of had a longer reign and he would of remained in his prime a lot longer...

Mid 30s and he was done, completely finished and he got outpointed/outsmarted by guys he should never of!

He cheated to beat a guy he regarded as "big bum" Cooper he couldn't beat him legitimately and he got flat out beat by Joe Frazier who is far from being the best ever, its only the biased American media who seem to buy into the hype of the past.

Losses to a bum like Leon Spinks aswell... smh, don't even bother bringing up he was past his sell by date.
        Even Berbick jesus...
There is such a thing called longevity, look at how long Wlad remained champion!

Losses to Berbick, Joe Frazier, Leon Spinks and what should of been Cooper aswell are equal to as bad as Wlads losses to Purrity, Sanders and Brewster only difference is Wlad was young when it happened and even after those bad losses he carried on going strong and has well surpassed Ali's title reign.

        Difference?

Beat up to **** by a sparring partner... 38yo aswell!

        Still reigning strong... 38yo

Carry on with your bias towards American propaganda.

Wladimir has had nine defenses of the lineal HW championship. Ali had nineteen successful defenses of the lineal HW championship, in a career that was interrupted by a three year banishment.

As for longevity: Ali was a HW champion in 1964 and a HW champion in 1978. His three title reigns encompass nine years. Wladimir only won an alphabet championship eight years ago.

Klitschko's career was concurrent with Holyfield and Lewis; Klitschko fought neither.

When all is said and done, the only fighter on Klitschko's resume that might get into the Hall of Fame is David Haye, and that will be for his achievements at cruiserweight.

I've had enough of this thread. It was meant to be a discussion about whether Ali was no. 1 or not. Not a comparison between Wladimir Klitschko and Ali. As great a fighter Wlad is, he does not belong to the same league as Ali when resumes are considered. I frankly find it ridiculous to suggest that. I dont blame Wlad Per se, but the quality contenders during Wlad's reign has been few and far between.

H2h some might argue there could be different winners.
