    Shame they robbed Holyfield..

Just watched the footage from Holy's last title attempt against Vaulev.. It's clear Evander deserved to win as he landed more and just looked all-around better than his opponent. It's a shame to be robbed and especially if it happens to be your last hurrah.

I agree. Holyfield was far removed from his prime, yet he turned in a tremendous performance and deserved the decision.

Hideous decision!... Valuev was useless, and it must've hurt Evander down to the core.. If you take away the little chicken dance at the end, Holyfield beat him just as convincingly as Haye..

Unfortunately, it happens and not so very very rarely; each sport discipline where refs are made to decide about the final outcome is endangered with such a ****. It's a real shame in 21st century to let it happen in many sport disciplines.

I didn't score the fight but agree Holyfield did the most of what little action there was.

It's sad that they had to rob someone so far past his best, and I admired how Holyfield took it like a man and didn't cry about it. One positive though is that if he'd gotten the W he may have faced Haye or a Klitschko which I wouldn't have wanted to see.

the judges discretion has been the hard luck of many fighters. Horrendous decision.

it's a damn shame they screwed a fighter as great as Holyfield in his last meaningful fight

Would have technically made him a 5-time HW champ too, no? It really ****** that he got robbed for sure. But like Clegg pointed out, this may have avoided him facing one of the more dangerous heavyweights, probably a Klitschko who would have destroyed him. Atleast Evander did not take any more significant damage the rest of his career after that, even against Ibragimov.

I remember watching that live on some crappy ppv, with the colonel doing commentary, and Holyfield clearly won,, i think i had it 116-112 and was probably being generous to Valuev....

I wish holyfield has won, but on the bright side, we would have gotten holyfield vs wlad or haye, and holyfield would have been beaten senseless

Well at least Holyfield might not have fought as long after that, as he'd know for sure how he compared against the best heavyweights then, since he often talked of wanting to be undisputed champion again.
