It's sad that they had to rob someone so far past his best, and I admired how Holyfield took it like a man and didn't cry about it. One positive though is that if he'd gotten the W he may have faced Haye or a Klitschko which I wouldn't have wanted to see.
Good point of view, and I agree, it probably all worked out for the best
Enjoyed watching him on a reality tv show recently
His anti-**** rant was highly amusing (only if you're not gay ofcourse)
No doubt he's taken too many head shots, but it could've been worse.
Reluctance to share the ring with a *******ual, could have scuppered a fight with Haye lol

But like Clegg pointed out, this may have avoided him facing one of the more dangerous heavyweights, probably a Klitschko who would have destroyed him. Atleast Evander did not take any more significant damage the rest of his career after that, even against Ibragimov.
That's the way I see it. He would have taken tremendous punishment against Wladimir and surely stopped.

Holyfield was only fighting because he needed money at that point. I don't believe his enthusiasm for becoming 5 time champion was as genuine as his need for cash.

By judging both fights on my own criteria. Simple as that.

Why did Valuev v the Klits never happen?

Don King. Vitali really wanted that fight but King was an obstacle. There was no way the brothers were ever giving King any options.

Officially because of Valuev's state of health; IMO, because this fight could have been dangerous for both.

We disagree then.. Haye beat Valuev in every department.
The giant said so himself, 'He was too fast,' never requested a rematch, and promptly retired..
You must be the only person in the world, who thinks Valuev should have won
