Just to help you with difficult Polish names -- it's DARIUSZ MICHALCZEWSKI.

As regards who'd have won ? Most probably Jones J.; the only one chance for Michalczewski would have been extremely tiring and strong left straights, minute by minute, round by round and tiring Jones.

Resume, skills, wins, when they fought, what they did for boxing. A lot of different intangibles that in my opinion defines 'greatness'.

Thats cool, i feel the same, but dont see how you can have wilde on the list,,

Maybe if it was a top puncher, or most exciting fighters, but ATG he is far away from top 20 IMO

That's fine, I don't mind you or anyone else having a different opinion.

In my eyes, Jimmy Wilde is without question a top 20 of all times. Even just seeing the late footage of him when he was past his prime, he was a force of nature for such a small guy. First champ of the flyweight division, took the boxing world by storm, only lost 4 times in 150 bouts. had a further 600ish bouts in boxing booths.

            The guy was great.

If Resume, skills and wins are 3 of your 4 criteria then I can't see how Wilde could be in your Top 20 when there is such a ridiculously long list of fighters who are much much better in all of those categories.

It is some of my criteria. It's like Bernard Hopkins. Sure, he has a decent resume, he's had a lot of defenses and he fights even though he's an old man and I respect his accomplishments.

But is he great? As in, would you tell your kids about the time you saw Bernard Hopkins fight?

I sure as hell wouldn't and that's some of the logic behind it.

You wouldnt tell your kids about hopkins... I dont have kids, but i can totally imagine myself as OLD MAN WINTER, telling tales of hopkins, especially the tito, tarver, and pavlik fights,,,,
Would i make them watch his career DVDs,, no, but i would def give them an earful of hopkins

Hopkins is a great fighter yeah, no question.

Much greater than Wilde that's for sure. In every single one of your catergory of criteria probably.

The only one that's arguable is "What have they done for Boxing", I'd say being the oldest Champion ever is more significant than being the first Flyweight Champion ever.

Nope. Never a hopkins fan at all. But it was more the principle behind it as well.

I don't think greatness is defined by hugging your opponents to death. Hopkins have literally showed me some of the worst boxing I've ever seen. Some of it has made me question why I'm a fan in the first place!

I think it was his fight with Winky Wright that did it for me. It was just one too many for me.
