Just watch until the first left hook lands. It's only 1:30 long. Don't need to explain it you can see it on film. Like you said, is it there on film? Ok, you tell me.

I don't see a swarming fighter - his movements are almost unique for the period (at least for HWs.)

The rest of the fight means nothing because Willard was finished after the first left hook. But before that Dempsey knew not to stand in front of Willard.

He is? Oh. The fact that his posts mark him as a halfwit has got to count for something.

Facts no it wouldn't work i said this before he would need to advance it cause it had to many flaws for modern eras and if he wanted to be hw he would need to gain if that would happen yea he does good

jack knew that Willard was dangerous he was smart so he knew he needed to move had he not he would be koed

Against Willard he worked an in-out style until he scored with the left, about 1:30 into the fight.

Wonder how that would play against Big George.
Of course....It's all guesswork whether it's educated guesswork or not. But I've always been of the opinion that Dempsey has the best chance of beating Ali of any champion who came before. These days I'm confident adding any champion who came after. Size, for Dempsey just means he hits faster and more often. It ain't Sumo.

                    - - Not bad Wispy. Add in ol'slojo' Louis back foot shuffle steadily cutting off the ring, and we got a pair of winners.

Arsenal...WHAT arsenal. He had a straight left jab, a right cross and an uppercut. Nothing else at all. No subtlety. I don't think he even had a real left hook. His asset was his strength.

And "BIG" George, wasn't all that big, 6'3" and a 78" reach. Average., but best fighting weight 215-220.....and SLOOOW.
