It's kind of sad that boxing history has overlooked Foreman a bit in this regard. IMO he is one of the most fascinating boxers you can find because of the old school grappling techniques(which would also be very beneficial in MMA where dirty boxing is legal) he used so efficiently.

Most just know him for his punching power and strength. But the deeper you look into his blocking, arm/torso manipulation of opponents, the anticipation of incoming punches and the counters etc. the more you realize he was an intelligent fighter with high fight IQ.

In his comeback he started to implement the cross guard for defense more. I think as he aged and slowed down it was much harder to control faster, younger opponents the same way. Which is why I said earlier that Foreman fought so well because he had remarkable genetics. It takes so much grappling strength, arm endurance and a great chin, it's kind of a high reward high risk style too, Frazier still nailed him with some hard left hooks and when he was too relaxed with it, a guy like Lyle made him pay for it. But this man was a machine.
Absolutely 100 percent. Foreman was a marvel. Sadler knew it, Moore knew it, Clancy knew it too.
