Jumbo Cummings was a tremendous physical specimen who could really whack he had Bruno on ***** street in their fight in 1983 which was his last fight, Jumbo got sent back to prison for life for stealing a loaf of bread under Clintons three strikes and your out rule... Jumbo was good enough to take a prime Tim Witherspoon the distance and would have a punchers chance against most

      1. Muhammad Ali
      2. Joe Louis
      3. Lennox Lewis
      4. ROcky Marciano
      5. George Foreman
      6. Jack Dempsey
      7. Mike Tyson
      8. Larry Holmes
      9. Jack Johnson
      10. Evander Holyfield
      11. Sonny Liston
      12. Bob Fitzsimmons
      13. Joe Frazier

Giving Frazier the benefit of the doubt, I cant rank him higher than 13. The reason I rank 12 guys ahead of him, is because I can picture all 12 beating the best fighters of their era.

-Ali/Lennox/Louis/Marciano actually beat the best of their era, so i dont have to imagine.

-I can picture Foreman beating Ali,
-I can picture Dempsey beating Wills/Tunney
      - I can picture A younger Fitzsimmons beating Jeffries

But under no circumstances can I see Frazier beating Foreman.... At any age. Just a horrible style match up, and the actual results left little to the imagination. Pretty conclusive.

        Except Fitzsimmons was a Middleweight.

          -Middleweight
          -LightHeavyweight
          -Heavyweight.

He actually should rank top 10 for being the Henry Armstrong of the upper weights. Carried decent power in all 3 classes.

He was well past it when he won the new Light-heavyweight title and he never weighed much over Middleweight when he was fighting Heavies. So while he fought and in many cases beat Heavies, he was never really a Heavy himself. I have him ranked #2 all-time at Middleweight and it's a travesty (or a sign of ignorance) that he gets left off top-5 lists. I simply can't find any justification for ranking him at Heavyweight.

Show us your list, challenge mine, and I'll be more than happy to debate you on it.

I know this is off topic but I absolutely agree with that statment. I see many people underrate Fitzsimmons' Middleweight ranking. In fairness it is an incredibly deep division.

I also agree there really isn't a justification for ranking him so high at heavyweight.

Cummings was never even close to being a top fighter as I said before. When you can tell me who Jumbo Cummings actually beat(or knocked out) get back to me.

It's hard to rate him inside the top 10 because of the short career he had.

Surviving the distance doesn't make someone a good fighter and armed robbery is hardly the same as stealing a loaf of bread. You can claim Butterbean would have a punchers chance against most too, that doesn't change the fact he wasn't very good.
