Sorry, no sale. Weight doesn't dictate punching power.

And btw, Liston was nearing 40 and past prime when he was KOed by Ali.

A high-altitude stadium and a crooked ref are the only things you have.
Lennox beat everyone on his resume', and the ones who were fortunate enough get lucky, were humiliated the worst...

        KO-4

        TKO-5

Nothing to do with referees, stadiums, altitude or anything else, it is all to do with Lewis chin and how he went down and how he failed to recover... both knock outs he suffered Lewis went down as if a ******* had been leveled on him and failed to beat the count. against Rahman the referee could have counted to 50 and he would not have beaten the count and against McCall he was not unlike Trevor Berbick against Tyson with Lewis falling into the ropes then into the opposite ropes then into the referees arms.. Rahman was not a great puncher and never in his career did he replicate his knock out of Lewis against any other opponent... So like Poet says.. Lewis cannot be ranked as ATG because of those 2 knock outs and his other wobblers he took against journeymen fighters, how can he possibly be ranked against fighters like Frazier, Dempsey, Foreman, Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe, Johnson, Louis, Ali and others when those fighters punch far harder than Rahman or McCall

Do you understand the arena where Rahman/Lewis occured was situated almost 2000 metres above sea level? There are people who pass out jogging at that altitude let alone box 3 minute rounds.

Lewis did not train a single day in those conditions because he was in Las Vegas shooting Oceans 11 only a week before. Lewis won 3 of the first 4 rounds easily, but the conditions began taking their toll as the fight went on.

Lennox beats every single one of the fighters you mentioned under fair conditions.

Young George Foreman would have absolutely ****d Lennox Lewis.

As for the question at hand:

Ezzard Charles was knocked down 8 times and knocked out by 39-7 Lloyd Marshall in a Light Heavyweight bout in 1943.

7 years later he beat a 58-1 Joe Louis to capture the World Heavyweight Title.

I think that's probably one of the better examples.

Also, even though it wasn't a knockout, boxing history buffs may also find this nugget interesting:

Jimmy Ellis, who won the WBA Heavyweight Title vacated by Ali after his Vietnam protest, actually lost a MIDDLEWEIGHT bout to Rubin "Hurricane" Carter 4 years prior.

Both fighters had to deal with it, if Lennox didn't train it's his own problem.

Altitude had nothing to do with his chin, Lewis got poleaxed end of story. Lewis backed himself into a corner with his hands held low and got bombed-out by journeyman Rahman.. it had nothing whatsoever to do with altitude like what you are trying to imply. if the altitude was effecting Lewis you would have seen how lathargic he was and how he would be struggling yet that was not the case, he lost because he got knocked-out plain and simple..
