Calzaghe wasnt regarded as an elite fighter till 2006 when he beat Lacy. After that he fought 2 opponents of note Hopkins and Kessler. Props to him for the Kessler win but I and many others including Enzo and the British press had a 40+ Hopkins beating him.

Jab's the mod and he's policing out the flaming and trolling. He deletes entirely 3-5 of my posts every couple of days. I don't take it personally as he's just doing his job.

Outside of Britain and some of Europe, much of the world does not care for Joe Calzaghe.

Joe's resume really has nobody on it. His best win is who? Jeff Lacey?

The difference to me is the way in which the opposition was handled. Tyson dismantled most everybody he faced, even top contenders of the time such as Thomas, Holmes, Spinks, Williams, etc... and Joe Calzaghe was outboxed many times and was given gift decisions, as he mostly fought C and D class fighters in his own backyard, rarely leaving his home.

Many people boast his wins over Hopkins and Jones, but had those fights taken place 7-8 years earlier, those guys probably would have disposed of Joe easily, especially Roy Jones.

For me, Calzaghe is not very impressive, and outside of Britain and some of Europe, he will not be remembered as anything more than a good fighter who did exactly what I described above.
