Tyson or Calzaghe whos resume is greater ?

Just as the title says whos has the better resume Tyson or Calzaghe and why ?
Both are accused of fighting past their prime greats and some feel their resumes are lacking much talent ...

Outside of Britain and some of Europe, much of the world does not care for Joe Calzaghe.

Joe's resume really has nobody on it. His best win is who? Jeff Lacey?

The difference to me is the way in which the opposition was handled. Tyson dismantled most everybody he faced, even top contenders of the time such as Thomas, Holmes, Spinks, Williams, etc... and Joe Calzaghe was outboxed many times and was given gift decisions, as he mostly fought C and D class fighters in his own backyard, rarely leaving his home.

Many people boast his wins over Hopkins and Jones, but had those fights taken place 7-8 years earlier, those guys probably would have disposed of Joe easily, especially Roy Jones.

For me, Calzaghe is not very impressive, and outside of Britain and some of Europe, he will not be remembered as anything more than a good fighter who did exactly what I described above.

And you fail to mention, Tyson fought everybody of the time. You can say the division was weak, but he still fought everybody up until he went to prison. Donovan Ruddock is a better win than anybody on Joe Calzaghe's resume.

Joe Calzaghe really only had the 0. He's like Chris John.

Hopkins is his best win and it's very controversial, as well as a lot of it had to do with hopkins being in his mid 40's and simply not being able to fight at a frantic pace anymore.

At the same time, Tyson's career is complete garbage between 1995-2005. That's significant.

I'm not arguing the case for Calzaghe, but he goes a long way toward reeling Tyson's early lead in as the two draw to the end of their careers.

Tyson in my opinion. Joe has a 0 with 0 good fighters beaten.

Im no fan of Calzaghe, but Lacy is just a good a win if not better than Ruddock.

Come on, really? Although Hopkins was past his best, he was still Lineal Ring Champion and number #1 in the division when Calzaghe beat him, and the fight after, Hopkins did shutdown the Middleweight Champion who was 34-0 and in his prime.

Mikkel Kessler was 39-0 & undisputed 168lb champion with WBC & WBA Titles when Calzaghe defeated him. And Kessler has since gone to grab another world title and take the unbeaten scalp of Carl Froch.

Am not saying Calzaghe has a greater resume of wins than Tyson, but saying he beat no one good, is really underrating him.

Calzaghe's win over Hopkins is sandwiched between two of Hopkins' marquee wins, Tarver and Pavlik. He wasn't too old to handle those two, yet he couldn't beat Calzaghe.

At any rate, Tyson beat (and often dominated) more good fighters than Calzaghe did, so I'd rate Tyson's higher.
