Anyone remember Fast Eddie Hopson? He wasn't nearly as good as Jones or Leonard, but for awhile he had the fastest hands that I've ever seen.

Pac is fast but there have been many fighters a lot faster than him. He doesn't really compare in pure speed to most of these guys and there are a lot more guys who are certainly faster, but just not as good overall.

It's not Pac's speed that is his main thing. He is very fast, but it's his angles, footwork and power combined with his speed. In terms of pure speed, I could think of ten guys in the past decade or so as fast or definitely faster than him. It's the combination of other things that make him great.

Hopson had wicked speed. When he first started fighting on USA and ESPN I thought he was going to be a superstar.

Isn't it the perfect category? They had fast hands. They may not have been accurate but they were very fast.

so you can name 10 faster than this.

Unless we're talking about pound for pound hand speed, then it's not going to be heavyweights... or even welterweights like Leonard or Pacquiao.

                  Chana Porpaoin
                  Ivan Calderon
                  Oleydong Sithsamerchai
                  Humberto Gonzalez
                  Ricardo Lopez

are the five fastest set of hands I've ever seen, although I could name more strawweights/flyweights with faster hands than anyone at the higher weight classes.

Porpaoin's hands in his prime were like a hummingbird's wings: You knew they were moving, you just couldn't see them.

Good post, as well as a fine list!.. Miguel Canto would have also been a good addition.

It stands to reason that the fastest hands will be in the smaller weight divisions, but i doubt this would be the case with 15 ounce mits on lol

P4P, i'd say it's a toss up between Taylor and RJJ with Patterson as the fastest HW.

You kind of proving Benny's point here.

Considering it's training, his hands are fast, but not superhuman. What's *sick* is the feet/leg movement with every punch, which gives power to every punch.
