however, probably because of second day weigh ins.

Hearns was ripped at 147 and wasn't even considered weak, he often stalked his oponents.

I have no problem saying Williams is a bigger welter. How many other welters in history were bigger than Hearns though? The guy was a monster at 147. Its not even debatable.

As for my comments relevant to this topic: he was definitely very large for the weight, although he filled out better at 154.
I agree he filled out better at 154, but that doesn't detract from how big he was at 147. I can't understand how r.burgandy can even deny that.

He looked like a stick at 147, but he was still bigger than anyone I've ever seen at the weight other than Williams.

"Kronk fighters all tend to look like Ethiopian long-distance runners; the ****e-thin Hearns is the archetype."

Mark Breland, Milton McCrory, Maurice Blocker, Johnny Bumpus may not have all been Kronk fighters, but they're the type you're getting confused with, but at 21-1 you're too ignorant to be educated on the subject!.. Hearns had the back, neck and shoulders of a light-heavy, and you are the only one who cannot see that!

He had made these attributes work for him without a hitch and, whilst some may have wondered how his lanky frame would react when and if he was nailed with a hard shot on the chin, for the time being it was Hearns who was administering the KO inducing blows.Hearns was one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in recent years and an All-Time great; He was tall and lean

Does not mean small, paper thin, delicate or fragile..

In the days before the fight, Hearns played baseball, changed his eating and exercise routine, and lost a few needed pounds. Steward said, "He didn't have enough energy. When he got hit in the sixth round, he was hurt. Tommy Hearns, who's got a good chin and never been hurt. But when he got hit this time, he didn't have nothing in his body to have resistance to the punch."

Which means, "Too big to be a welterweight"

After that fight Hearns knew he had to further develop his ring skills and his body. Always slender and tall, his long arms gave him an advantageous reach

Copied from another forum no doubt, because this wasn't written by anyone with an ounce of credibility..

but Hearns broke his right hand and was overwhelmed by the seemingly indestructible and physically stronger Hagler in the third round.

No mention of the word "Bigger"

in conclusion mickey, the only guys who seem to think hearns was a massive welter are you and your peanut gallery of jab an benny lol.

As well as 19 others, disagree with your bird seed opinion.

He still had those shoulders and back, but yes he was lean. His arms may have looked thin, but longer arms means longer muscles.

I actually think it was his shoulders that really expanded most as he moved up in weight. He always had those skinny legs though.

Yeah, he had some skinny legs. But look at those traps running up the back of his neck.

Yes, absolutely, he was ridiculously big for a Welterweight. But, as people have said, not quite as big as the freakshow of modern day boxing, the P4P largest professional boxer of all time.
