    Ali or Louis?

    Who's the greater heavyweight?

    In my opinion, it's Ali.

    Joe Louis

It's close but I would have Ali edging it slightly based on his unreal speed and reflexes.

I got Louis, but don't have any problems with someone rating Ali in the 1 spot. Ali has the better resume, but I think its more impressive to stay on top as long as Louis did.

I'm pretty sure I read that, once. I found it pretty biased.

That is an excellent article that breaks down their styles. Doesn't necessarily make it true, but its food for thought.

He has his position on the subject and while I may not necessarily agree with his conclusions he does make some valid points and should be given some consideration.

There's definitely some valid points, in there, even though certain things may come off as a biased.

It's a good read, for sure, though.

i have found that page by accident a few years ago..
i dont agree that louis would ko ali, but still a good article even when its biased.

quote: The “rope-a-dope” would not work against Louis, in much the same way it didn’t work against Frazier in Manila. In that fight, he absorbed a terrible beating to the body.

i cant imagine a young ali fights with his back against the ropes vs louis.
joe louis only chance is to land a left hook like cooper, hurt him and then finish ali without giving him time to recover.
but i think the fight would be more like the first walcott-louis fight, ali would school him.

Lol, you've just taken a diminished version of Ali and made him prime and put him up against a diminished version of Louis who wasn't prime. The author of the article was using a prime Louis vs all of Ali's styles, not just saying Louis wins because Ali would fight like he did in Frazier 3. Capiche?
