I am not sure that what Rock did was miraculous, because I think a perfectly fair question is whether he fought in the weakest heavyweight era. Some say yes, some say no.
As shown recently in another thread, Rock under-aged his best opponents significantly too. They were near shot and he was prime. And who doesn't believe Foreman and Liston punched harder than Walcott and Moore?
That 8 ft ring is a good equalizer though. Some of the big boys will have real trouble positioning themselves for their best shots, they will have to twist and turn and pivot looking for leverage. That takes time. But Rock should be in constant position and able to throw his shots with leverage in that setting. I give him chances in that ring I would not give him in a full sized one.
