I forgot about Dokes - for a heavy he was lightening fast.

It's a shame drink and drugs made him fail to live up to his potential. His fight with Holy was an absolute cracker.

khan is the fastest guy from the last 15 years. people always want to look for the fastest GREAT fighters and not look at it purely on handspeed.


theres also reflex speed which to me is different than handspeed. someone like an older roy he still had handspeed but lost his reflexes. someone like floyd probably has reflexes second only to prime RJJ and very very good handspeed so his counters are blazing fast but a few guys like zab and khan had faster hands.

Well said...people try to limit this discussion to the fastest great fighter's whilst overlooking the fact that there's plenty of other fighter's like Khan (who were good but NOT great) yet had quicker hands. I also believe that's one of the reason's why Mayweather was reluctant to fight him (although I still think Floyd would've found a way to win as Khan would probably be able to handle his power).

As far as heavies go at the top of the pile (in no order) are Patterson, Ali, Tubbs, Dokes and Tyson.

But watch out for top UK prospect Moses Itauma. For a 245 pound behemoth he is very fast indeed.
