    Rating Rocky Marciano

I would rate him 3rd (perhaps 4th) all time CRUISER champ. I do this because is actually what he was, a cruiserweight. I rate Usyk, Holyfield and Johnny Nelson higher.
If I were to rate Marciano as a ATG heavy, it would have to be rated somewhere waaaaaaay down the list.

In some music stores in the guitar section there is a sign on the wall reading, "No Stairway To Heaven."

That is the same enthusiasm another Marciano thread is greeted with around here these days.

Rock's AT standing is as controversial as it always was and boxing fans are deeply polarized. He was one of the last of the gnome-sized heavyweight champions and many think the best of 'em.

Link me to like-minded Marciano threads. No links, then they never existed.

There is only one Hawk around these parts brothers and he goes by Hogan, oh yeah, dig it.

I don't see a problem with rating fighters by their actual weights.

Who is the best 180? If you don't say Marciano I freak out and break stuff.

Under 190lbs Marciano can stand on a dais with Dempsey and Langford .That should be enough for any man.

I agree, actually I think it'd be quite an interesting way to look at history/historical figures.

I would have made another thread about fighters by weight instead of weight class if I thought I had the depth for the task. Outside of HW, I can have a convo about LHWs and MWs but the lower divisions not so much. 1930s 120lb champions I would have to look up and maybe after reading the names go oh yeah I know this one or that one.
