Whatever the reason, he preferred the clown route that wows infantile casuals, but does nothing for the sweet science. Had he fought the entirety of his career like he fought Roger Mayweather, you could make a head to head case for him.

He didn't, and so his delusional supporter are always bursting into tears over being robbed vs Ramirez or Oscar or Chavez Sr. It's not a good look for greatness after an Olympic Gold where he had much promise turning pro.

Manny came up harder to never have the chance fight in the Olympics, so he made do with what became his signature, 19 yrs old going into the Lion's Den and knocking The Great Champ out in front of his people.
