    And your point is?
Rome's overreach lasted 700 years, Japan's 12. My point is, they are overrated. Not saying they weren't a premier nation, just overrated.

      - - Put the Mediterranean in the Pacific and you have a speck on the horizon of what, 1/2,000th scale speck? Japan has the longevity of Rome +

"Longevity" - created by centuries an official policy of isolationism.

Hidden away on an island protected by typhoons. Eh! Not impressed by the Japs.

P.S. Empires are measured by land controlled not waters crossed. Besides a mere 12 years is pretty sad.

The Roman's pitched a tent in the middle of an interstate highway called the Mediterranean and when the pressure came conquered the world.

Your guys hid (Japanese isolation) and when they finally tried to make their move for glory they got seriously crushed.

Eh! Just not as impressed with them as you are.

P.S. Highest ratio of pre-teen suicides world wide. That's pre-teen mind you. Those ******** math tests are difficult.
No... It took more than a divine wind to knock off the Mongol Hordes... I have no problem letting you and Queen B sort out who first discovered mathmatical forms, which Socrates proved are in our brain and have been used at least as far back as ancient Egypt...

But there are actual accounts of the Mongols and Japan. Most people haven't a clue that the Mongols did come on land, did have battles, and made a calculated decision to avoid Japan because Japan was that capable, and yes... the geography helped. BUT it was not a sole cause of Mongols turning tail, far from it.
