Remember this fight getting done a couple months back.

But anyway I think a prime Tyson is a bad match up for Roy, as Roy wound't have his speed factor over this heavyweight in Tyson which is his best point when taking on a heavyweight.

Tyson could match him for speed and then Roy would have to deal with Tyson strength and punching power. And at heavyweight Roys main factor is his speed. I don't think he would have the power to knockdown Tyson, he would just have to use his brain and skill. But overall I think a prime Tyson beats a prime Roy Jones at Hevayweight.

i dont know why but it does.
as a 13 year old lightweight, i would be on quire street from flush shots for half a round.

as i got older i just fought who ever was close to my weight in what ever gym i was in. by 18 i was a 5'6" 178lb slickster (at least i thought i was.)

to get rocked at that point in my life i had to get rocked by a strong puncher.

about four years ago, before i stopped fighting altogether, i was a 5'7" 210lb hw and the only punches that rocked me where the ones i couldnt see coming. which (admittedly) was happening more and more as i got older.

weight helps, heavyweights last longer, into there fortys these days
and their heavier now than they've ever been.

not saying jones would win, but it does help explain why jones could take a flush right from ruiz , but get dropped by a tarver straight left.
muscle and circulation helps, fat does nothing to your chin though.

          i disagree sir.

certainly you've heard that fat helps cushions against impact and helps keeps shock from reaching the brain stem, the part of the brain damaged by a blow causing unconsciousness and concussion.

muscle however transmits shock much better. when struck, the shock of the blow will travel throughout the body, how much of that shock reaches the brain stem depends on if

          (1. you where hydrated enough and have any

          (2. if you've been properly trained in defense and you can "roll with the punch", there by negotiating the impact to the ground.

          and

          (3. if you have a healthy layer of fat for the shock to get trapped in.

chris byrd fought at heavy but really had a middleweight frame. while he was definitely in shape he also sported a nice layer of fat. he took solid shots from tua, v.klitshko, bert cooper, jimmy thunder and other one shot k.o. guys.

but when he moved down to light heavy he go starched by Shaun Gorge.

now byrds circulation was probable better than it had been at any point in his career cause he had to run that weight off, yet his resistances to impact seemed to have declined. along with his bodyfat.

now having fat won't make you unhurtable but it helps.

james toney took monster shots from rahman and sam peter, do you think he could have done that as a middle weight?
