George Foreman would've beaten any Heavyweight in history in a trilogy.(vid)

Problem for George in this mythical encounter is Louis could side step and box nimbly, counterpunching and then swiftly attack when his opponent was hurt. Foreman would be attacking a fighter with, in effect, a high powered rifle in both fists.

He'd be attacking a vulnerable glass chinned fighter with cement feet. Yeah I don't see how Foreman can overcome that. The Old LefHook likes this.

Louis? Cement feet? Not even close. Start of the fight Louis would be side stepping and boxing, countering. At some point early Foreman will run into a right cross that staggers him and the fights over soon later. Louis was a sharpshooter with one punch ko power in either fist and he will be fighting a wide open target.

Foreman was one of the best but not one of the absolute best. Young beat him badly and convincingly and no BS about how he had faded... Liston, a mentor of his, was better, cleaner punching, better combo punching, better finisher, and much better hand foot coordination and speed.
Young IMO was a great fighter, I am putting him on my next list of ATG heavyweights! lol... no shame in losing to a guy who beat two other excellent sluggers, Norton (fck the judges) and a faded Ali.

They were signed to fight ca mid 70s, but Lar pulled a buttocks muscle or had a sore pinky toe and couldn't make the date, so George fought another mop up. I could go further, but that's the way it was for them then.
Novice hopeful George KOed the guys who first exposed Ali in Wepner and Chuvalo, and BTFO the guys who whooped Ali, Frazier and Norton. Had no problems going the distance with Peralta who was a guy who would've give Ali fits and did give Lyle fits. George knocked him out in the 10th round in the rematch.
So, them the facts Jackson, and the notion that Foreman stamina has roots in Sadler's promotion of him as a raging monster where he was dehydrated the day of the fight, ie the weigh in making him into a raging KO beast. George showed he could box in spite of being slower in his comeback, and Michael Moorer as a southpaw would've likely beat half your lineup and given the rest hell.
Talk about the weakness of Ali to the left hook, and Angie saved Ali twice from quitting fights vs Liston and Frazier. So while the OP proposes a preposterous speculation, all you is pile on to that nonsense. Noone wanted to fight a trilogy with George...NOONE!!!
They wanted trilogies with Ali, ie easy $$$

I watched all of Young’s televised bouts from back in the 70’s. He was one of my favorite fighters at that time. However he was no ATG heavyweight. Not even close. He could not break an egg with his punches and he generally just did enough to win. Although I rooted for Young to beat Norton he didn’t. Instead of being busy and taking the play from Kenny in the late stages of a close bout he laid back and in doing so lost the decision.

I strongly suggest everyone put Queen on ignore. He brings absolutely zero to the table. The Old LefHook likes this.

George wins popularity contests against them two out of three times, that's all. I don't think he would ever defeat Clay who had a phantom punch for oafs.
