how can you say ezzard charles is better than marciano when charles lost 25 times and rocky lost 0 times and rocky had an 88% ko rate no bum can knock 43 people out when you only fight 49 times

First off, let me say that I believe that Rocky Marciano is a top 3 heavyweight along with Joe Louis and Ali. With that said Ezzard Charles was better than Marciano, however, not at heavyweight. In a pound for pound sense, I would say that a pre - Sam Baroudi(sp?) Ezzard Charles was on the same level as Ray Robinson.

There is always going to be some controversy over how good was Marciano. In my opinion any man who can go undefeated by beating such greats as Archie Moore, Ezzard Charles, Jersey Joe Walcott and others is deserving of our praise. There will always be haters no matter what fighter your talking about (Archie Leach I'm talking about you). But what he did is undisputable. Strongest son of a gun in boxing until Tyson and even that can be argued. The man was a monster

Marciano was (is) the 6th. greatest heavyweight champion (after Louis, Johson, Ali, Dempsey, and Tyson) of all time.

In my opinion he was the greatest of all time, I know a lot of people will disagree with that and I'm alright with that because everybody is going to have their own opinion, but no matter what you think of him, he was a good fighter, fought the best of his time, and his reign is a piece of boxing history.

ed lowerly interview...The hardest puncher he ever faced was -- surprise, surprise -- not Marciano. That distinction belongs to the venerable light heavyweight great Archie Moore, to whom he lost a 10-round decision in August, 1948.
"He almost broke my jaw," said Lowry. "I was going with (the woman who would become) my wife then and we had been invited out to a turkey dinner right after that. And I couldn't eat. I was sucking through a straw.
"Moore was the hardest puncher I ever fought. And he was pretty old when I fought him."
That was four years before Moore beat Joey Maxim for the light heavyweight title at the age of 39.

Guys, any thoughts on how Rocky would fare against ATG's head-to-head? I have to admit I've seen more of Moore and Charles than I have of Rocky. I'm not particularly partial to his style of fighting

Thats also where controversy is. He was never beaten which makes it difficult to judge who could have beaten him and fought many different styles and won by KO in most. On the contrary, he was small compared to Heavyweights but still packed more power than them.
I suggest listening to interviews and doing research on him and opponents, and also watching some clips of him after; then decide for yourself.
