I would say one of the greatest rounds ever (round #1) didn't think the next two were that fantastic, good rounds, but not in the greatest ever category.

Heard the story about the leg rub-down; to add to it, Steward also stated later on, as they were leaving he the dressing room Hearns said to him, 'my legs feel tried.'

How the hell could Hearns go to the body, he couldn't stand in front of Hagler. IMO kind of an absurd thought.

Hearns would say later "I wanted to box, he wouldn't let me."

Me thinks Hearns got unlucky, it was Hagler's finest night. Hearns would have been better served if Leonard and him had switched fight dates.

no one would ever have destroyed Leonard in his prime and your talking out your ass.
The reason why hearns got destroyed by hagler is he decided to fight toe to toe and refused to step away from a brawl.
Hagler never destroyed Duran who countered hagler and he willie monroe who used movement.
You move you box and you take away the steam when you have a fighter coming at you.
It was more styles that hagler lost to Leonard nothing else.
It’s common knowledge you take the steam out the fight and then it’s a different fight altogether.
If hagler thought he could have walked through Leonard he would have done but he knew Leonard was a different fighter than the gung ho mentailty of Thomas hearns

hearns never attempted to box till the middle of round two by that time hearns was already cooked and his fate was sealed.
That whole first round hearns met fire with fire and never attempted to box.
Hearns was notorious for going to war with fighters and then get tagged...that’s why Barkley caught him and knocked him out and roldan almost had him out.

I used this post as a great example of something Deemoney said in the triangle theory vs styles make fights thread.

            I've heard this to.
Is there any actual proof of these convenient excuses?

Marvin trained more seriously than Hearns. Marvin was training in downtown Vegas at Johnny Tocco's boxing gym while Hearns decided to show off and train right there in the open at Caesars Palace.

I heard the story as told by a person involved with Kronk team. Just my word on somebody elses word. But I trust those words are true.................Rockin'

                  - -I'd rather train in an open space than a stuffy, sweaty, stinking gym.

End of the day, each fought their best to best and Tommy almost had Marv out on cuts.

                  Think about it...

The story is very self serving for the kronk team dont you think?

If you look at Hearns in the first round you can obviously see that his legs were not right. Kronk has never needed any self serving BS, they come to fight..........Rockin'
