For the folks that dont understand why he competes in K1 over Strikeforce. Its basically like an American whos good at football and soccer. The american can leave the USA and makes millions of euros overseas but you can bet your bottom dollar that the american is staying home to play football.

I'm not placing any blame on anyone besides M-1 and SF. Strikeforce for allowing guys to have non exclusive contracts (although they have no choice since their roster is weak and top fighters arent gonna commit to something like that). M-1 doesnt need to be explained and Dana like him or not did the right thing by building his own stars instead of trying to throw his whole hand for one ***ing guy.

I love Fedor but fans dont understand business. If your a business owner why would you pay Fedor 400k a fight? Cuz hes good at armbars? Sure from an entertainment aspect he deserves the money but think about it. He's not bringing in ratings. Why pay Fedor 400k when Nick diaz can bring in the same viewers?

Talent wise fedor is worth every penny. But business is business and a dude bringing in few viewers, with a diva management just isnt worth it.
I have a difficult time assigning too much blame for the Fedor-Reem situation, especially not being privy to the details. For one thing, I think fighters should properly have the right to bargain, without being subject to slave contracts of the UFC sort. The reason why is quite simple, this is how fighters maximize their worth, rather than being handed pre-dictated terms.

I think the Fedor-Reem situation is more complicated than people often think. As Monaro said, which I fully agree with, Strikeforce made the decision to build up Overeem and Fedor through separate fights. If said it over and over that Strikeforce gambled by throwing Werdum at Fedor (was saying it before the fight). I don't like the concept of ******** on a guy to win like that, but Strikeforce rolled the dice, and it came up snake eyes. This was automatically a major blow to the potential Overeem fight. It seems as if Fedor's side is likely intent on securing a rematch with Werdum, wheras Overeem opted to fight in the K-1 GP, rather than haggle over a potential fight in SF. He had to make a decision, and frankly I think he made the right one. It's unfortunate that Fedor is on the shelf, hopefully he'll get the Werdum rematch in the early part of next year, and the winner of that fight can face Overeem in the Spring. In the mean time, I look forward to Strikeforce continuing to put on solid fights. What else can you say.
