Superman Returns is setting the stage for the new franchise. To me, it was only a 2 1/2 star movie but I'm thinking the next one will build on it and be better...

Sounds like the the new starwars films. It was really all about Revenge of the Sith, the first 2 were set ups.
Thats probably why they were so crap.

I thought the third one wasn't any better than I or II. I didn't hate I or II, but I'm not so into the series that my opinion would have many supporting points vs. a sci-fi nerd...

I had the pod race and Darth Maul. There are a lot worse summer action movies that get released every year

I saw Unforgiveable Blackness when it first aired. It was very good. Combined with reading the book, it makes for a very educational experience. Usually you can't go wrong with Ken Burns. I don't care about baseball so I sat out the epic documentary Burns made on that subject but his Civil War was incredible and the one on jazz was very good too.
