this one's a double header, i watched two good movies recently, so here's da **** on both:

Matewan: wow, great film that probably never got the recognition it deserved. Corruption and union busting in poor coal mining towns, i have a feeling the movie is based on a true story. Excellent performances, believeable characters.

Luck: canadian made low budget film starring sara polley. even though she doesn't get naked in the film, i've watched several of her films now and and am starting to think she's got a "no nudity" clause in her contract. DAMMIT!!!
anyway, the film is a real roller coaster ride about gamblers and the 1972 olympic hockey series, which canada won. very good story, the characters really become real and likable in a hurry. the film really pulls u in. there's some shots of polley, closeups, where i actually licked my tv screen, i just wish i'd remmebered to dust it once in a while first.

Matewan was an incredible film. John Sayles is one of my favorite filmmakers out there, especially because of Lone Star.

i hate that i don't get to go to the movies and i have to wait until the movie comes out on dvd...by then everyone has already discussed the movie and moved on.

i recently saw superman returns, the break up, davinci code, mission impossible 3, click

wtf is up with the "son"?
when did lois & superman have ***? i assume it was just aluded to or insinuated. he certainly didn't act like he slept with her by his aloofness and calling her ms. lane. there was no hint of intimacy at all between them. i just didn't buy it.

davinci code, not as good as book, but decent flick.
