      Legally? No.

      The law ALWAYS favors the woman in events like this. A neighbor of mine years ago was getting ***** slapped around by his gf and he called 911 and they told him do NOT retaliate and go lock yourself in the bathroom till we get there. They were literally telling him if you defend yourself you will get into trouble. They took his gf away in cuffs. Win.

      Personally speaking, laughing at the woman hitting will bother her more than striking back.
